ished, and two of them could be actu ally wiped out, by health consciences that make a duty of proper rest and sleep, proper food, proper clothing and exercise.” The Pour Headaches.—These head aches were discussing their parents. “My father,” said Headache No.' 1, “was Ambition, my mother was Over work, a'm asterful, energetic pair.” Headache No. 2 was prompt to reply, “My father was Indolence and my mother was Pampering—an elegant couple they were.” “My father,” Headache No. 3 broke in, “was Intemperance and my mother was Gluttony, and a merry house was theirs—part of the time.” “My parents were serious—Worry and F ret; no frivolity in their home,” said Headache No. 4. “But you ought to have seen my Grandfather Self-will and my Grand mother Thoughtlesnsess,” Headache No. 1 boasted, throwing out his chest. “Why!” exclaimed the other Head aches in one voice, “Those were our grandfather and grandmother too! Thus the Headaches discovered that they were first cousins, and ever since they have worked in close co-operation and have loaned each other freely their hammers and punches and awls.— Wells. Prevent Sickness.—Every ten seconds a baby dies. A baby born today has less chance to live a week, than has a man ninety years old. It has less chance to live a year than has a man eighty. From eighty to ninety percent of infant sickness and deaths are pre ventable, forty-two percent of the deaths can be prevented and fifty per cent of sickness is unnecessary. This means a money loss of $50*000,000 every year in Massachusetts, and an equal sum in every state of equal popu lation. Golden Text Illustration.—The hand of the average bookkeeper travels tea

LESSON have traveled all ILLUSTRATTONS over the world, I W. H. Pike was h u rt in an acci dent and lost the use of my limbs. One day in the hos pital a lady gave me a New Testament. I read it. Never had ,X heard such a wonderful message of love. " When I saw that Jesus Christ was the only Saviour, I lifted my heart to Him and said, ‘Lord if you will heal me I will serve you’.” Then he said, “You see me walking up and down. I am well. Christ healed me and forgave me and I have been testifying for Him ever since.” This is according to Ps. 103:3, “Who forgiveth all thine iniquity, who healeth all thy diseases.” Bible Illustration.—The Bible is full of healing illustrations and God is con stantly healing instantaneously and slowly thousands of people. Jesus was ever healing people and he continues to heal. God never heals one to continue in the same old sins and live on the same low plane of unbelief. Probably this is why so many people go to the Dispensary rather than to Deity. 3 John 2 reads, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosper- eth.” There is a close relation between a spiritually healthy soul, well fed on the Word of God and well exercised in soul-winning, and a healthy body. No tice the distinction between sickness and demon possession, made by Jesus. Mk. 6:13. Common Sense Health.— “Not heal thy consciences, though they are well worth writing about, but consciences th a t are sound on the matter of health. Nearly one-third of the deaths in the U. S. are from heart diseases, tubercu-, losis and pneumonia. Pneumonia is largely due to over exposure, tubercu losis to unhygienic living and heart dis eases to overwork. Each of these ter rible scourges could be greatly dimin
