It,, is heavenly treasure, laid up on earth. Success al ways attends diligent, faithful, contin uous work. Take God’s Word for it. (Prov. 22:29). “ Seest th o u a m an d ilig e n t in h is b u si ness? he sh a ll sta n d before k in g s; he sh a ll n o t sta n d before m en.” This is unfailing in the life of a man here and hereafter. Read Prov. 31:10-31, and this is true of any dili gent woman in the Lord’s work. PRACTICAL POINTS (1) The best seat for any scholar is a t the feet of Jesus. (2) The best comment on the service of a man is the commendation of his fellow servants. (3) If you attend the “Jesus school,” you can work your way through. (4) He who feeds a lazy man fails to fulfil the law of God. (5) The slothful man says .“There is a lion in the street,” when he should say “a liar,” (Prov. 26:13). There are many lazy Christians, but there are also many good, faithful work ers, and the encouragement in their ser vice is th a t they are working for Him Who labored and labors still for them. They are working intelligently accord ing to instructions, and they are work ing industriously while it is day, and they are receiving daily rewards. They are working joyfully, knowing that it is the best business in the world. This business brings joy to the work er because it gives joy to the Lord and to the sinners that are saved, and to the saints who are comforted. The compensation is daily.
