Pre-Engineering & Robotics Industry Certifications

The REC Foundation Certifications Program is a response to a global need for more students in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Along with a team of professional engineers, college professors, and high school teachers, the REC Foundation created two industry certifications for students in engineering or robotics-related programs.

Pre-Engineering Certification is earned by passing the Fundamentals of Engineering Core exam plus any two of the Engineering Module exams. Robotics Certification is earned by passing the Fundamentals of Engineering Core exam plus three specific Engineering Module exams - Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Science/ Programming. Note: Earning the Robotics Certification also earns the Pre-Engineering Certification.

Pre-Engineering  and Robotics Industry Certifications Purpose: Certify the knowledge that students demonstrate after ~150 hours of high school-level coursework focusing on basic engineering fundamentals

ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

The REC Foundation does not require a curriculum to successfully complete the exams, however the following resources are available for teachers to consider. Curriculum Suggestions

Modules Certifications are based on a Fundamentals of Engineering Core exam and eight Engineering Area Module exams. All exams are pass/fail at 70%.
