THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEGAL TALENT Meet Sydney and Anna, Our Newest Law Clerks!

our lawyers have with their clients. We are all motivated to help people and have fun along the way. Even when I’m doing tedious work, it feels very important to me because I know it will assist someone who’s injured or hasn’t been treated fairly. After I finish law school and pass the bar I could see myself staying in this practice area. At the end of the day, I just want to help people. I’m so excited to be part of this firm, which has an incredible reputation in the community for taking on tough cases and getting results. MEET SYDNEY I’ve always believed in fairness, and law is all about justice and being able to advocate for others. It’s a field that requires a lot of passion. Once I got to law school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do exactly, but I knew that personal injury cases called to me. In 2017, my dad was injured very badly and suffered a brain injury, so I could see how a life can be flipped upside down when something catastrophic happens to a loved one. My mentor knows Allen and connected me. Tittle & Perlmuter has an excellent reputation, and I heard incredible things about the firm’s work. I work directly under Allen and have been tasked with a lot of medical malpractice casework. One of my primary responsibilities is contacting clients, families, and lawyers as we prepare for trial. I also help with research, draft complaints and motions, and research codes and regulations. This is my first job in a law firm setting, and how much I’m learning has been insane. We aren’t attorneys yet and don’t know what we don’t know. I appreciate the opportunity to work things out on my own and have great support and mentorship from people so willing to help us grow. I enjoy being part of a team that helps so many people. Everyone is incredibly invested in every single case and client. It’s such a great feeling when I see one of our lawyers get excited to tell a client great news. The firm is just an environment where a group of caring professionals works hard to achieve the best outcomes for people. After school, I aim to pass the bar on my first

At Tittle & Perlmuter, we love to help shape the next generation of hard- working attorneys. We’re excited to welcome our newest law clerks, Sydney and Anna, to the firm. Both of them are extremely bright and passionate, and we’re thrilled to have them with us! MEET ANNA I have always wanted a career where I could help people, so I studied criminal justice for my undergraduate degree. I enjoyed the subject, and even though I can’t pinpoint a specific moment that led me to law school, I knew it was where I wanted to go. It’s so important to try to gain experience over your first summer of law school. My mom is a physician, so I was interested in medical malpractice cases, and when I came across the firm, it seemed like the perfect fit. I had actually heard Allen speak at an Ohio Association for Justice event and talked to him briefly. As a law clerk, I assist with various litigation tasks, such as researching relevant information for our cases. I primarily work with our attorneys, Scott and Katie. I also draft complaints or discovery requests and call clients to get information. As first-year law students, you learn about the law, but you don’t actually learn how to practice until you are in it. It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to do the actual work of attorneys and gain valuable mentorship and guidance.

attempt and then find something I truly can stand behind. I want to go to work every day with that spark of passion and continue to help people.

I love everyone who works at the firm, and there is a great company culture here where everyone supports each other. It’s inspiring to see the connection

BUCKLE UP, IT’S GOING TO BE A SAFE RIDE Top Traffic Tips for Every Driver

Thousands of vehicles take to the road every day, and there are almost as many deadly or harmful accidents. As National Traffic Safety Month kicks into gear this month, it’s the perfect time to rev up awareness and put the brakes on dangerous driving habits. Whether navigating city streets, cruising the highway, or sharing the road with pedestrians and cyclists, safety should always be in the driver’s seat. Buckle up because we are sharing some of the top tips for a safe commute! SHARE THE ROAD. There are many other drivers on the road alongside you, and it’s essential for everyone’s safety to give everyone enough room. Always provide a three-second following distance behind another vehicle. You can quickly figure that out by looking at an overhead road sign, tree, or other marker and counting the seconds it takes you to reach it after the car in front of you. Give large trucks extra room for the

wide turns they will make, and don’t break immediately in front of one, as it takes a big truck more time to break. Always give bicyclists at least 3 feet of clearance when passing. FOLLOW THE SPEED LIMIT. Higher speeds result in more serious accidents as those collisions carry a higher amount of force. The speed limit keeps drivers safe, and it’s illegal to speed. Not only is speeding a leading cause of wrecks, but it can also be dangerous in inclement weather like snow and ice. It’s harder to stop quickly if you drive above the posted limit. Keep an eye out for reduced speed limits, too. These can occur in school or construction zones, meaning more people are in the area, so you must pay greater attention to the surroundings to keep them safe. COMMUNICATE WITH OTHER DRIVERS. Always communicate your intentions on the road with the other drivers around you so

they can prepare. Use your turn signals to let people know where you are heading. Ensure your brake lights are in working order and slow down as soon as possible to give other drivers time to follow suit. Every small step you take to ensure safety on the road can make a huge difference in preventing accidents and saving lives. Buckle up, remain focused, and stay safe!

The priceless artwork, artifacts, and other attractions draw tourists worldwide to museums. However, not everyone can travel the globe to view the works of accomplished artists, curious historical figures, and inventions of esteemed engineers. Luckily, famed institutions like the Louvre in Paris, The State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, and Smithsonian Museums in Washington, D.C., all have something in common: Patrons can enjoy them online . The internet helps bring esteemed exhibitions to your browser, where you can take virtual tours free of charge . Here are three incredible museums with virtual tours for all to enjoy! Virtual Museum Tours Make Art and History Accessible DIGITAL DISCOVERY THE LOUVRE Built partly in the ruins of a 12th-century fortress, France’s national museum and art gallery is the most popular destination of its kind. The French revolutionary government opened the Louvre in 1793, and Napoleon expanded it. Today, it houses some of the world’s most famous works of art, including Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa.” You can enjoy great swathes of its exhibits through virtual tours on its website.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY Part of the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., the National Museum of Natural History is the most-visited natural history museum in the world . Its 1.5 million-square-foot grounds house a dizzying array of exhibits to delight visitors of all ages. Virtual tours are available on its website and include spectacular views of its awe-inspiring exhibits. THE STATE HERMITAGE MUSEUM Founded by Catherine the Great in 1764, the world-famous Hermitage Art Museum is in the Russian city of St. Petersburg. Nicholas I and the Soviet Union, among others, have reconstructed and expanded it since then. While some of its works were sold to fund Soviet industrialization, it is still a tremendous beacon of art and culture. With political tension and despotic rule making it more difficult for those in the West to visit Russia at all , its virtual tours, which you can find on Google’s Arts and Culture website, are the safest way to view its contents.

SUMMER FUN WITHOUT THE RISKS

Top Tips for Water, Camping, and Grill Safety

As the summer activities heat up, so do the chances for unexpected injuries! Whether lounging by the pool, hitting the trails, or embarking on a road trip, keeping safety top of mind can make all the difference. So, let’s dive into some of the safety essentials you need to ensure the season is not only enjoyable but also accident-free. WATER SAFETY Accidental drownings are sadly a common occurrence, especially for young children. Whether you’re headed to the community pool, a beach, or a water park, knowing water safety basics and being a confident swimmer can ensure everyone stays safe. There are a variety of local swim classes you and your family can take so your children feel sure of their abilities. It’s also wise to learn CPR so if an emergency does happen, someone can start performing this life-saving action. Never allow children to swim in an unsupervised area, as drowning can happen in less than a minute. So, choose a pool or water source with lifeguards.

someone you trust so someone will notice if you don’t arrive when and where you were supposed to. Sprains, falls, and dehydration can be common outdoors, so carry a first aid kit and drink plenty of water. Bring extra supplies and be aware of animals like bears that could live in the area. GRILLING SAFETY This is a wonderful time of year to grill up some burgers, but safety can go up in smoke if you don’t use caution around the flames. Position your grill outside so it’s sturdy and away from anything flammable. Never leave the cooking station unattended; ask someone to take over if you need to step away. Wear gloves and avoid any loose- fitting clothing that could dangle into the fire. Kitchen tools, like tongs, are specially designed to keep you safe when handling hot foods. By staying aware and prepared, you can enjoy all the fun summer brings with peace of mind. Let’s make this season one of adventure, joy, and, most importantly, safety.

CAMPING SAFETY If you are going camping this summer, do your research beforehand. You should understand the terrain, difficulty level, and weather conditions of the area you will be visiting and prepare accordingly. Share your travel plans with
