AMINEE HOFF ’24

MAJOR Media Studies HOMETOWN West Bend, Wis. ORGANIZATION Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin Stevens Point, Wis. TITLE Communications Intern

What I did: As the communications intern, I was required to create a number of videos, getting the messages out that the Foundation needed to emphasize to the community, that would be posted to our social media platforms to gain media traction. These videos would require me connecting with those involved with the Foundation, setting up professional interviews and camera equipment, then editing it together for publication. I also worked with the Foundation’s storyteller to improve our media pages and content–getting our mission/ purpose out to the community. What I liked: I really liked the opportunity I had to engage creatively within a business environment, adding my skills and knowledge to their work in hopes of impacting others. Getting the chance to talk to people of the community about what they did and how they worked to improve life here in Stevens Point (including Portage and Waushara counties), was by far one of the most uplifting things I have been able to do and I love that it is my job to spread this passionate, exciting message to the people of the community. Future Dream Job: One day, I would love to work on film/TV sets–whether that be writing, producing or media work. Anywhere near a camera is where I want to be–even if I’m not the one holding it. I want to work in a creative field surrounded by creative people who will push me to think outside the box and work together to improve our work and skills while achieving our passions. I would love to one day become a PA or run social media campaigns for celebrities/movies–interviewing them on the red carpet and creating content behind the scenes.
