My most notable transac- tion to date went into process and closed after the onset of COVID-19; I arranged $6.1 million in financing for two mixed-use properties in Newark, NJ. Despite the uncertainties and challenges presented by the pandemic, I was able to negotiate very favorable terms for my client and closed the 10-year loan at a rate of 2.85%. My “can’t stop, won’t stop” attitude has helpedme become successful in the commercial real estate finance world. I also don’t hear the word “no,” and instead, hear the words, “not now.” Persistence, con- sistently checking in and fol- lowing up with clients, and not taking no for an answer are also all qualities that have contributed to my success. Who do you feel was most influential in your life when choosing this profession? My colleague, Marvin Jer- emias. Aside from being a close personal friend of mine, Mar- vin took me under his wing early on in my career and be- came my mentor. I would say that he’s taught me everything I know in this business. What outside activities do you enjoy during you free time? When I’m not working, I’m an international record- ing artist and known per- former in the Jewish music world known as NACHAS. I produce music for today’s technological generation, also offering cutting edge, professionally produced mu- sic videos with meaningful messages. I’ve played on concert stages throughout the United States and fre- quently play weddings and bar mitzvahs. What inspiring word of advice would you give to a young executive gradu- ating from college? Delete the words “I can’t” from your vocabulary. The sky is the limit. Follow your dreams and you will accomplish tre- mendous things. MAREJ
