Let us not overlook “the Christian's vital breath,” no matter how busy we may be. Q. Klamath Falls, Ore. — “How can I be sure that there is life after death? I would like to believe, but doubts keep coming to mind.” A. It is always a good idea concern ing Scripture to believe your beliefs and doubt your doubts. Too many do just the opposite. We are sure that there is life after death because the Lord Jesus Christ has assured us of this fact. It is stated repeatedly in the Bible. We can trust Him because He is the eternal One. He knew, be fore He ever died, what life was like on the other side. If we doubt, in effect we are making God, the Holy Spirit, a liar. See such familiar pas sages as John 3:16-18; 3:36; 5:28- 29, etc. Our confidence in this truth is based upon the dual testimony of the Lord and the Word.
that you have to agree or even to compromise in the slightest with them. We know Christianity is the only way because God, in His Holy Word, says so. He has clearly re vealed certain great facts and doc trines in Scripture. We take Him at His Word. We accept Jesus Christ as Saviour. For a one word answer, the proof is “Israel.” God has re vealed the history — past, present, and future — of the Jewish nation in His Word. Study the prophetic Scripture and one cannot but be con vinced. Q . Kent, Wash. — “Could you please explain Isaiah 24:21-22?” A. The four chapters, Isaiah 24-27, are the prophets’ apocalypse. This is one of the mountain peak portions of the Word of God. Events are record ed for the end times. Add verse 23 to your study for an even clearer meaning. This is a time when the Lord will come bringing judgment upon those who are in great respon sibility. This is exactly what Reve lation 20 indicates. Satan will be con fined to the pit. The specific period is “When the Lord of hosts shall reign in Mount Zion.” These verses form a thumbnail sketch of what the Lord is going to do to all the un godly, with Satan at the head. This will be when the Lord Jesus Christ is ruling on earth, during what we know as the millennium. Q. Boise, Ida. — “I am a busy mother of five. Is thinking to God mentally and not taking a special time out for prayer proper?” A. A person doesn’t have to assume any particular form in order to pray to God. It is the attitude of the heart, and not the posture of the body which is important. The Bible tells us to “pray without ceasing.” This means throughout the day in every conceivable activity of life. A mother needs to pray as do we all. 28
