winning the game 3-2. The Colts managed to avoid getting skunked by making their two points in the third period. The first two periods of the game be- longed to Rockland with Andrew Abournossa putting the Nats on the scoreboard in the first period with help from Justin Dauphinais. Midway through second period Aidan Hilton fired in the second Rockland goal with help from Cameron Scrivens and Matthew Ver- maeten. Scrivens tapped in the third goal for the Nats in the last three minutes of the period with assists from William Collins and Daniel Menges. Sam Gaudreau scored both goals for Cornwall in the third period with assists from Tyler McBay and Kyle Lightfoot on the first one and from McBay and Jackson Hay on the second. Grads fail to win Rockland took down Navan 9-6 on Thanks- giving Sunday with the Nats outshooting the Grad by a margin of more than 20 shots on the net during the game. Navan earned two quick points within the first minute of the game with Jean-Sylvain Boyer scoring first, assisted by Luke Pa- quette. Nick Bruno fired in the second goal for the Grads about 10 seconds later with assistance from Curtis Fabbro. Alex Frechette put Rockland on the scoreboard three minutes into the game with help from Dauphinais and Abournossa. Navan’s Devyn Orpana took over the rest of
the first period scoring with a pair of goals, including one on a power play. Helping him out were Boyer and Gabriel Crete on the first goal and Boyer and Mason Goldie on the power-play point. The Nats dominated second period with Scrivens starting up the scoring run with a power-play point during the first two minutes, assisted by Gabby Kioki and Noah Doyle. Boyer answered with his own power-play goal for Navan, helped by Tristan Francis and Alex Robert. Cameron Pound punched in a pair of goals for Rockland during the last half of the second period, with Dauphinais and Scrivens assisting on a power-play point and Vermaeten and Scrivens helping on Pound’s second goal. Vermaeten added his own point to the Nats’ second period scoring with help from Cole Craft and Jack Sullivan. Rockland dominated third period with power-play goals from Doyle and Sullivan. Vermaeten assisted on both goals and Gun- nar Smith helped out with Sullivan’s goal. Abournossa also contributed a point to Rock- land’s lead with help from Alex Frechette. Cameron Last scored the final goal for the Nats with help from Kioki. Navan’s Alec Lovisek put in the last goal of the game with assists from Nick Bruno and Tristan Francis. This Wednesday the Nats are in Nepean then return home Friday evening to host Pembroke, followed by a Sunday afternoon home game against Ottawa.
The Rockland Nationals enjoyed a win- ning Thanksgiving weekend. Last Wednesday’s midweek home game against the Hawkesbury Hawks did not finish in the Nats favour with the Hawks taking the score 5-2. Both teams were almost an even match on their shots on goal. Rockland got the first point on the score- board with a mid-period short-handed goal by William Collins, assisted by Cole Hudson. The Hawks’ Jeremy Quesnel answered with an unassisted goal, then Sean E. Clarke put Hawkesbury in the lead two minutes later with help from Patrick Callahan. Second period belonged to Hawkesbury with a power-play goal from Azzaro Tinling, assisted by Zachary Lefebvre. Evan Johnston pushed the score to four for Hawkesbury two minutes before the end of the period with help from Owen Gonter. Nats assistant captains Cameron Scriv- ens and Jack Sullivan teamed up to put another point on the board for Rockland two minutes into the third period. Brendan Mc- Carthy finished the scoring for Hawkesbury in the final two minutes of game time with an empty-net goal, assisted by Luke Grainger. Colts corralled The Nats put the Cornwall Colts on a short rein on the scoring Thanksgiving Friday,
