Strathroy Hometown Festival: Better Than Ever
The Strathroy Hometown Festival is all set for another great event this Father’s Day weekend. In its 46th year, the festi - val continues to evolve and grow. Like always, residents from Strathroy and the surrounding area will find lots of fun, enter - tainment and a sense of community. The festival runs from Thursday, June 12, to Sunday, June 15, with most activities happening in Alexandra Park. Many of the festival’s favourite attractions are back, like the Strathroy-Caradoc Cruiser’s Show ‘n Shine Car Show, Magical Midways, Vendor Alley, Doug and Marion’s Bike Rodeo, Kara - oke Idol, and the free horse and carriage rides. A few new things have been added, like an extra concert on Thurs- day night that will get country music fans toe-tapping and some reptilian visitors that are sure to make the bravest kid squirm. The Hometown Festival kicks off a day early this year with a country music concert on Thursday night, featuring Graham Be- dard and Whiskey Glasses: Morgan Wallen Tribute. The Strathroy-Caradoc Cruisers’ Show ‘n Shine car show will open Friday festivities with more than 250 vintage cars on dis- play along the streets from the corner of Frank and Front Street. The show starts at 2 pm. The Magical Midways rides are also back, promising thrills and giggles for all ages. In-person presale midway ride vouchers are $25 before June 13 at noon and $35 afterwards in Alexandra Park. Friday and Saturday concerts this year include Speed Wobble, 4-Way Street, The Doubts, The Strands, The Ugly Stepsisters, and Max-Life Crisis.
Tickets for all three concert nights are $15 for Thursday or Friday and $25 for Saturday. You can immerse yourself in music with a 3-day pass for $40. That price increases to $50 after May 24, 2025. Free main stage events on Saturday, June 14, include Strath- roy Dance Club, Needham’s School of Dance, Junior Karaoke Idol Competition, The Roemers concert, and Full Throttle con- cert. Free main stage events on Sunday include the Senior Karaoke Idol Final Competition and the Reptilia Zoo shows at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm. The festival also offers several sporting events throughout the weekend, including co-ed two-pitch baseball, pickleball, ball hockey, and disc golf tournaments. Visit the festival website for dates, locations, and registration forms. “We’re excited and proud of our community involvement, partic - ipation, partnerships and the fun we have planned for this year,” says Strathroy Hometown Festival Chair, Shari Terwilligar. “Our committee works hard to arrange fun and interactive activities for everyone to enjoy, and each year we add something new to keep people coming back for more.” This year’s Hometown Festival committee, the driving force be - hind the annual festival, includes Shari Terwilligar, Dave Brock, Stephanie Dixon, Chris Soares, Rhonda Booth, Kim Killens, Richard McCammon and Kait Topham from the Strathroy-Cara - doc Municipality.
