BECOME THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF We’re humbled and honoured to be voted St. Thomas’ Favourite Beauty Salon! Thank you to everyone who believes in what we do. Your support inspires us to keep delivering exceptional service and to help you look and feel your absolute best. DMAC’s custom approach means they’re always building some- thing new. “We’re not too small to do big robotic lines,” Dave points out, “And not too big that we only stick to one product. Every project brings a new challenge, and that’s what keeps us motivated.” While the company tends to fly under the radar, the Business of the Year award has helped put a spotlight on what DMAC does. “You kind of forget how cool the stuff is until other people recognize it,” he notes. “After we accepted the award, people came out of the woodwork saying, ‘We didn’t even know you were here in St. Thomas.’” The company, which has been operating for 16 years, specializes in robotic automation for a wide range of manufacturing sectors, from food and beverage to military to woodworking. “If you’re manufacturing anything, we can do automation for it,” says Dave Minor, President and Owner of DMAC Automation. After working in the field for years, Dave founded DMAC in 2009, rising from the closure of his previous employer during the 2008 recession. “I was originally just going to do consulting,” Dave explains, “But then I thought that maybe I just need to start my own company.” That decision has since grown into a thriving business with local and global reach. “You’d be surprised how much of our work is actually local,” he notes. “We support local a lot.” Business of the Year: Inside the St. Thomas Company Powering Modern Manufacturing At the 2025 Impact Awards, DMAC Automation Ltd., a St. Thomas-based company that designs and builds custom robotic systems, has been named Business of the Year.
One Bar. One Act of Kindness. One Step Toward Change. The Impact Award marks a proud milestone for the company. “It was a huge honour,” Dave says. “It means a lot to have the work we do every day recognized like this.” Dave credits much of DMAC’s success to its team and the company’s culture. “Everyone here loves what they do,” he says. “We’re not in it for the glitz and glamour; we just like building things. “Many employees come from skilled trades or have been trained in-house through local apprenticeship programs. We have to grow some of our own, people you can’t find out there.” It’s that mix of creativity, problem-solving and hands-on talent that defines DMAC. “Our name says what we do: Design, Manufacture, Assemble, and Control. We don’t just build machines — we create solutions.”
