CVD Photography Celebrates 10 Years in Business by Peri Hayes This June 1st is the 10-year anniversary of Candice Van Diepen’s CVD Photography, who had been photographing loved ones for about two years when she began being referred. Candice then decided to visit the Small Business Resource Centre and utilize guidance through their appreciated program. CVD Event Studio offers photography services for real estate and personal projects, as well as specializing in iGUIDE — a Canadian-owned company offering an interactive 3-D virtual tour system for any space — which Candice has been involved with as a Distributor for about eight years. Owning the required equipment, she is able to create detailed maps and floor plans with exact measurements; evidently resourceful for construction, insurance and predominantly real estate in Candice’s experience. She reveals the ways in which virtual tours increased in popularity during COVID-19: “When I started my company ten years ago, I went to the Small Business Resource Centre as an Event Planner and a Photographer. I had this vision of offering both, however, business coaches encouraged me to pick one. I felt like I was constantly in this tug of war until the pandemic when the real estate portion of my company excelled and grew.” In recent years, Candice moved her office space to her home, working often within the community and bringing her photography on-site. This entrepreneur proudly serves St. Thomas and London area, along with exploring further opportunities per client request. CVD Photography generally books a minimum of one week in advance. Asked what excites Candice about her business, she radiates, “For me, it’s always been a passion about capturing a moment and giving that to somebody; being able to give people that lasting memory of a moment in time to be treasured. More on the family side of my business, life is precious. Sometimes photos are the connection to the world, and this is the part where I do my job.” As a sponsor for the Business After 5 with the Chamber of Commerce this June 18th, Candice is looking forward

to collaborating with the Elgin County Railway Museum, along with Mary and James Meadows of Catering by James Meadows. “The Chamber of Commerce have been huge business supporters, and it has always been a goal of mine to host one of their events.” Candice thoughtfully expresses, “I wish to share a special thank you to the Small Business Resource Centre for my beginnings, being available for advice and support. They’ve been instrumental in what they do. To my clients, thank you for being with me for my ten years growing in business.” Follow CVD Photography on Facebook and Instagram, as well as explore the cvdphotography.ca website for further information. Candice will be facilitating a draw through the aforementioned Facebook page in honour of ten beloved years in business.
