A population growth occurred from 2010 to 2019 with Burgaw residents. This was primarily due to Burgaw’s location concerning the thriving City of Wilmington and the amenities offered by the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) in terms of housing, schools, hospitals, churches, employment, entertainment, etc. The population and growth rates of the Town should be re- evaluated in future years and adjustments should be made to Plan Recommendations, as necessary.
