Repaving of Osgood Canal Greenway (Multi-Year) …………………………………………. $10,000 Repaving project for the Osgood Canal Urban Trail & Greenway, originally installed in 2010/2011. Over the years, the Osgood Canal Urban Trail & Greenway has served as a beloved pathway for residents and visitors, offering a scenic route for walking, jogging, and cycling. However, as with any well-loved infrastructure, wear and tear have become evident, prompting the need for maintenance and improvements. The repaving project, completed in phases, will address various safety concerns to ensure that the walking trail remains free of any trip hazards, cracks, roots, or other potential safety hazards. By resurfacing the trail, we aim to enhance the overall experience for users while prioritizing their safety and well-being. This initiative aligns with our commitment to providing accessible and well-maintained outdoor spaces that promote active lifestyles and community engagement. The repaved Osgood Canal Urban Trail & Greenway will continue to serve as a vital asset for recreation, transportation, and leisure, enriching the quality of life for residents of Burgaw and beyond. Splash Pad……………………………………………………………………………………... $100,000 Construction of a splash pad, fulfilling a longstanding request outlined in the Parks and Recreation Master Plan over the past 10-12 years. Recognizing the importance of providing recreational amenities for families and younger Capital Improvement Plan Town of Burgaw Page | 18 children, the Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department is seeking to address this need by introducing a splash pad to the town. Due to space constraints, the construction of a splash pad would necessitate the purchase of additional properties to accommodate the facility. This investment reflects Burgaw's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for its residents and fostering a sense of community by providing inclusive recreational opportunities. The introduction of a splash pad will not only offer a safe and enjoyable water play experience for children but also serve as a gathering place for families to socialize and connect. This project aligns with the town's vision for creating vibrant and family-friendly public spaces that promote health, wellness, and community engagement.

Gazebo at W. Ross Harrell Memorial Park……………………………………………………. $20,000 Replace the current wood structure with a new metal pavilion at W. Ross Harrell Memorial Park. The Parks Department has identified the need for this upgrade due to the ongoing maintenance issues with the existing gazebo, which has required multiple repairs over the years. Transitioning to a metal pavilion will reduce upkeep and maintenance costs associated with the structure, providing a more durable and long- lasting solution. Additionally, the new pavilion will be larger in size and available for rent, offering opportunities for revenue generation. By investing in this project, Burgaw aims to improve the quality and
