On a dive boat far away from home it is easy for divers to lose track of who their dive guide is so make sure there is some distinguishing feature that can differentiate one guide from another (e.g., a guide with one white fin and one blue fin is easy to identify underwater). Make sure it is

The Dive Team and Role of the Dive Leader Some dives are conducted in small groups and led by a dive guide, while other dives can be set up as independent, or self-guided where divers can roam freely. Sometimes there are enough people on board to require more than one guide and one group. During the briefing it is important to clearly
clear what order the dive teams will enter the water and make sure everyone on the boat knows which team they belong to. Describe whether there will be additional divers in the water (e.g., safety divers) and what their roles are. For large groups that are split into teams, a good idea would be to have the dive guide for each team personally in- troduce themselves to each diver. A designated crew member should conduct and document headcounts to confirm that every diver returns to the boat.
