CO-FUNDING ADDS $432,835 IN VALUE TO CHECK-OFF DOLLARS MANAGED BY CDRF In 2026, CDRF is working with co-funders and collaborators from CDFA, USDA, IMGC, the Valhalla Foundation, Dairy Council of California, National Dairy Council, Dairy Management Inc., California Dairy Innovation Center, Sustainable Conservation, Hilmar Cheese Co., Glanbia, Actus Nutrition, and others to support the strength, resilience and sustainability of the California dairy industry. OUTSIDE FUNDING AT NEARLY $86 M : Leveraging outside funding in combination with CDRF’s internal expertise and infrastructure expands the impact of California’s dairy research and education portfolio, maximizing outcomes while preserving industry resources such as CMAB funds. 2026 PROJECTS FUNDED BY OUTSIDE SOURCES 2023 - 2028 USDA ADVANCING MARKETS FOR PRODUCERS (AMP) – FORMERLY ‘PARTNERSHIP FOR CLIMATE-SMART COMMODITIES’- DAIRY PLUS PROGRAM Funding granted by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA): $85,000,000 CDRF receives direct and in-direct reimbursements for this project, resulting in a positive return. CDRF (along with CDFA, the University of California, Dairy Cares, CMAB and several other California dairy organizations) was awarded $85 million in funding by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in 2022. Over the next several years, this project will provide incentives to producers to adopt advanced manure management practices along with outreach and technical assistance (the Dairy PLUS Program). Managed through the AMP initiative, the Dairy PLUS Program is a program under California Department of Food and Agriculture’s (CDFA) Office of Agricultural Resilience and Sustainability (OARS) that will award competitive grants to California dairy farms for the implementation of advanced manure management practices that reduce both methane emissions and nutrient surplus. Project goals also include the measurement of green-house gas and nitrogen benefits associated with implemented practices and the enhancement of markets for climate-smart commodities. THE CDRF PORTFOLIO INCLUDES MORE THAN $86 MILLION IN CO-FUNDING AND OUTSOURCED FUNDING
