2025 December Board Book

Mountain Mike’s Aloha Summer promotion – Mountain Mike’s is a 300-unit regional chain that has just announced national expansion plans. The RCM-sponsored Aloha Summer promotion was their “best performing LTO since 2023!” Nearly 26,000 pizzas sold during the 8 week promotion yielding nearly $1MM in topline sales for the company. 76% or roughly $750k came from the Zesty Aloha Pizza alone. This successful promotion resulted in usage of over 950k lbs. of California mozzarella, a 28% increase in cheese cases compared to pre-promotional time period. Mangia e Bevi Award-Winning Creamery Crown promotion – CMAB foodservice has partnered with 2025 Real California Pizza Contest winner, Tore Trupiano, to promote his winning pizza in his Oceanside restaurant. The pizza features California mozzarella and gouda cheeses on a Dry Jack crust, topped with fried cream cheese dollops and a post-bake swirl of crème fraîche. The pizza is described as a "decadent blend" of rich, tangy, and nutty cheeses. The promotion began mid-October in honor of pizza month, and he’s sold around 100 pizzas. Given the interest from his customers, the promotion will continue indefinitely. CMAB is supporting with social media and in-store merchandising. Peet’s Coffee promotion – CMAB ran a 5-week test with Peet’s over the summer promoting lactose-free milk with customer facing point-of-sale signage and barista education. One of the goals of this test was to steal share from plant-based alternatives. Over these five weeks, lactose-free milk predominantly stole share from almond milk. There were 572 lactose-free drinks ordered during this test at 10 Bay Area locations. Customer feedback from in-store intercepts was highly positive, praising the milk’s sweeter, creamier taste and superiority over plant-based options. While Peet’s will not adopt lactose-free milk now, the test provided valuable insights into staff education, marketing strategies, and future coffee operator partnerships. Strategic Events and Tradeshows Real California Grilled Cheese Contest – CMAB foodservice’s new online recipe contest focusing on California butter and cheeses ran Aug 1 – Sept 19 and received nearly 90 entries from across the country. Four finalists were selected in the California Classic category and four in the California Freestyle category. Professional chefs will be preparing the dishes and a winner will be announced in each category in November. A recipe book will be created from the selected entries, and promotional materials will be developed for social media.
