boys played their parts well, with lots of “Trevors” taking the stage. It seemed that most boys in the House changed their names for the night. Thanks again to Oscar Gosling and the Year 13 boys for preparing the boys with scripts, costumes and props. House Shoot The 2022 Richards House Shoot was held on Sunday 4 September. It was a sunny day and a great turnout. The boys were joined by a large group of parents who participated in the shoot. Hosted by the New Zealand Handloaders Association at its facility at McLeans Island, we made good use of their facilities and were warmly welcomed by the leader of the shoot, Mark King (the husband of one of our staff). Lots of shots rang out, some successful at finding their targets and some not so. By the end of the day, when the smoke had settled, the parents held the top positions, so, if I recall correctly, they still dominated the boys. Results 1st Baldy Jones, 18

SCHOOL COLOURS AND ACADEMIC GOLD AWARDS It was a prominent academic year for Richards House. It has been such a pleasure seeing so many of our boys awarded school prizes for their sporting, cultural and intellectual pursuits. HOUSE DINNER AND PRIZE-GIVING The 2022 House prize-giving seemed premature as, for the first time, we conducted it at the conclusion of Term 3 in conjunction with our House dinner and not at the end of Term 4. The night was enjoyed by all as Zac Knight took the stage to host the evening. It was certainly an evening of gratitude and celebration. The House spirit was palpable, and everyone celebrated their year of hard work and determination. The night started with the awarding of House colours and flowed into the special awards.
