in a few final interhouse events. All boys in Years 9–11 competed in the tug-of-war event. Each year group competed separately and both the Year 9s and 11s fought valiantly, but, unfortunately, were unable to make it into the championships division. The Year 10s, on the other hand, worked tremendously well together and, after three very tough rounds, found themselves in the final against Flower's House. In a very close final, the Year 10 boys “pulled” tremendously to defeat Flower's, 2–1. The boys involved in the event were: Harry Carr, James Hadden, Angus Haugh, Callum Kingsbury, Rockie Macfarlane, Fergus McCone, Geordie Pavey, Will Richards, Charles Smith, Hugo Trolove, Angus Wallis and George Young. Term 4 also presented the House shooters with the opportunity to show their stuff in the interhouse clay bird shoot. Five boys represented the House – George Helmore, Digby Sheild, Hugo Helmore, Angus Haugh and Matua Cox. After a busy day and five rounds of intense competition, School House found itself a clear winner with 195 points – 22 points clear of 2nd. George Helmore was awarded the Top Shot prize. INTER-MENTOR GROUP CHALLENGE This year, we continued to develop the four mentor groups. Each group comprises a spread of Years 9–13 boys. Each group would meet with its Assistant Housemaster weekly to discuss academic progress and goal planning. We continued the inter-mentor group competition with several new challenges this year. These challenges included a balloon tower and School House stairway egg drop, as well as the three weekly IPG results. All of these events add points to the champion tally. Cross Country Term 3 came to a close with the running of the interhouse cross country. The boys represented the House well, with special mention going to Harry Hanson for placing a very creditable 4th overall in the junior race. Finally, Term 4 presented the juniors and the odd senior in the House with the opportunity to compete

Jack Smith and Jake Abbiss for helping to run this event, as well as Year 11 students Harry Hanson, Benji Nation and Wills Ockwell for stepping up and teaching the juniors the haka while the seniors were on study leave. Jack Smith, as the leader of the haka, was excellent, with the ajudicating kauma¯tua praising Jack’s poise, presence and mana in leading the haka.
