Acquisitions are an important way of adding lateral information to the history of College. Photographs and clothing have been the mainstay of additions to the collections this year, while farewell speeches from long- standing members of staff provide a very important ‘insider’ perspective. With the 175th looming and the appointment of an author for a book that will chart the last 25 years, archives have been very busy making sure that indexes to the various College publications are up to date and available. On 26 April 1852, that is 170 years ago, Charles Collwyn Prichard, Herbert John and Frank Mathias, and David Theodore and Charles Hood Williams enrolled in the new
schoolroom attached to the Church at Christchurch. They were followed later in the month by Arthur Stanley Brittan, Francis Arthur, Freeman Rayney and Henry Bower Jackson,
William Guise Brittan, Robert Simeon Jackson, and Vallance Brenchley Bishop.
