friendly game against SBHS towards the end of the season, fun was had by all and the game included assisted dunks and easy shots. Michael Taylor got his first four points of the season and team spirit and sideline support was in fine form. Senior Black continued to play well throughout the season and fun was always a priority. Some wild shots were thrown (and missed) but the team chats and motivational speeches were the primary focus from week to week. The trend throughout the season was a consistently positive attitude and, as a group, the boys were invested in the competition and gave every game their best. As voted by the team, the Most Valuable Player was Ciaran Huntley and the Most Valuable Team Member was Michael Taylor. Briar Wait Manager

The early games were plagued with injuries and we often had only five or six players available. That said, the boys brought determination and passion to the games. It was also great to have the support of the Head Boy, who often took statistics to work out the player of the day and who was going to be shouting the after- match food and drinks. On court, the team was surprisingly competitive and willing to try anything to get points on the board, leading to some optimistic game plays. While the team had both wins and losses, they had fun, gave each game their best shot, and scored some good three pointers throughout the season. A strong, committed side turned up for the first game of the season. While slightly too aggressive in the first half, the boys made their points through some great fast breaks and some excellent shooting from Ciaran Huntley, who scored from outside the three-point line. It was neck and neck all the way, with neither team pulling away until the last few minutes. When Jack Brent scored a three pointer, Senior Black finally got ahead and took the win, 49–42. In week two, a friendly game against a Year 11 Shirley Boys’ High School team was more about sideline support than baskets and points. More than 20 minutes in and the team made it to double digits on the scoreboard – but more than 20 points behind. Charismatic team managers on the sideline maintained a positive vibe and the clipboard offered some excellent strategies that were echoed in the game play. The boys gave it their all and there were smiles all around, but the team finished with a 62–24 loss. In a
