In the last two round robin games of the season, Year 9 Black dominated the opposition with 20–30-point leads – a reflection of great passing, control of the ball, and swift rebounds. Despite performances that were worthy of a finals berth, the lows of the mid-season resulted in the final game being a playoff for 5th and 6th. This was another dominant performance for a convincing 5th place finish, showing just how far the boys had come in a disrupted season. Nicole Billante Manager

In a challenging early-season game against Christchurch Boys’ High School, Hunter Lethlean played a strong game and showed great leadership on the court. In a close game against Te Aratai College, the boys played well together, resulting in a win in the final moments through the excellent coaching of Luke Edmonds. Against Rangiora High School, the team had some beautiful plays, but they could not maintain the momentum, leading to a disappointing loss. Near the end of the season, the team united against a physical Lincoln High School team to have a huge win. Nikau Crosby should be commended for playing with intensity and excellent defence. In the final game of the season against Te Aratai College, the team played well against strong opposition. While it resulted in a loss, Alex Feasey was a standout player. YEAR 9 BLACK BASKETBALL Manager: Nicole Billante

Team: Joshua Brown, Bill Cross, Jackson Grace, Dylan Jackson, Bruno Kearney, Yul Kwon, Max Percasky, Lui Tupuola, Jan-Adriaan Van Wyk It was a very enjoyable season overall for the Year 9 Black team. Early illness and injury hampered the team initially, making it difficult for the boys to find their stride as a group. Despite this, the season started with convincing wins against St Andrew’s College and St Bede’s College. Mid-season, there were some tighter games against Hornby High School and a rematch with StAC, losing by one basket in each game. The mid-season rematch with St Bede’s was the toughest game the boys faced, reversing the scoresheet from the first game. These losses
