positive attitude and smiles of the boys, who – despite the result – were still just enjoying their time together. The rest of the year followed in a similar manner, and despite injuries and illness hampering some player availability and resulting in draws that could have been wins, the team finished a respectable 3rd in a challenging grade. Although everyone made fantastic contributions on and off the pitch, the final awards went to Yul Kwon for MVP, Felix Derry for Players’ Player, and Sammy O’Connell for best overall U14 Player. Tasman Daly took out the most goals for the year with 15, narrowly edging Louis Fogarty on 13. Overall, a great year

work at training was starting to show and the boys grabbed their first win against St Bede’s College. Despite being down by one goal in the first half, the boys put in a valiant second- half effort to take the game back for a convincing victory. The season highlight was the game against Cashmere Technical. Having come off a loss the previous week to a different Cashmere Technical team, who were lower on the table, team morale was low, and the boys did not favour their chances. Despite this, right from the get- go the boys showed they wanted the win more than the opposition. They started strongly and held that course throughout the game. The whole team was putting in maximum effort, proving that the boys could compete, win challenges against bigger players, and create chances. This resulted in a well-deserved 6–2 win and showed what the boys could achieve by working together. I was very proud of how the boys managed to improve this season. It was not easy, but their dedication meant they could push through these difficulties and play good quality football. All that they learnt this year would benefit the next season. Thank you to Jennifer Thomas for being an excellent manager, and thank you to all the parents who brought the boys to the games, watched, and helped bring the nets down. It was certainly a season to remember. Jack Lindo Coach

From the start of the season, it was clear that most boys were keen to learn more about the sport and improve their skills. The season started slowly, with players being swapped around amid sickness and injuries. After suffering some heavy losses in the first few games, the boys realised the importance of effective communication and team play. As the season progressed, many results were still not going our way. However, the boys showed more promise and improvement as they continued to play together. Throughout the rest of the season, the boys continued to improve. Their skills were developing quickly as they played with greater intensity and, most importantly, communicated effectively. The hard
