for the first time in 16 years because of rain, so the boys were very keen to show everyone how much they had improved. And they had. Like many teams at this time of the year, the Polo teams had student changes the day before the tournament. This was unfortunate, but it was in the best interest of all boys. I thank both the boys and parents for their understanding. With ideal weather conditions and spectators allowed, it was a perfect finish to the season. It was a huge weekend for our coach. In the lead-up to the tournament, Charlie Wood’s 8-goal polo team found itself missing two key players, with both unavailable because of Covid-19. Despite this, he showed

all his talents to be awarded the South Island Player of the Year. We congratulate Charlie and acknowledge his standing as an outstanding role model for the boys. It was a long day for the polo school, with all the grooms testing positive for Covid-19. Despite this, Charlie had all the horses ready for the boys and the day went off without a hitch. College had two teams playing in different grades and two players in two combined teams. James Whitaker and Ethan Kepple both played in different Christchurch teams at levels they were comfortable in. Both boys played very well in the D and B grades, helping their teams to a successful day.
