VIRTUES From the Director of Wellbeing Education

It has been an exciting year for Wellbeing Education at Christ’s College, with the implementation of our targeted Wellbeing curriculum across all levels. From Years 9–13, all students now experience our unique Wellbeing curriculum, specific to the needs of our boys. While there are common threads throughout the curriculum, each year group has focus areas that form the building blocks that align with our Graduate profile. In Years 9–11, boys engage with our MINDfit classes, and at Years 12–13,

we have continued and developed our MANifesto programme. In 2022, Year 9 classes have one period a week of MINDfit throughout the year; Years 10–11 have two periods a week throughout a semester; and Years 12–13 classes have one period a week in Terms 1–3. As 2022 was the first year of MINDfit classes in Years 9–11, all students explored the concept of Wellbeing – what it is and the importance it has in our lives. Classes discussed physical fitness and from there

explored the notion of being “mindfit” and how it could impact on our day-to-day lives. Having completed their VIA Character Strengths surveys, classes focused on understanding the 24 different strengths and how, by adopting a strengths-based approach, they could gain a greater appreciation of themselves as learners and as individuals. Year 9 classes delved into their signature strengths, while Years 10–11 explored their middle and lesser-used strengths and how
