delivering strong performances throughout the tournament. All five College players advanced to the quarter-finals in convincing style. In 2022, we entered two teams in the Canterbury Schools Premier Grade. The Senior A team played incredibly well throughout the season, with only the one loss to StAC College in another tight match. StAC proved to be our nemesis. The Senior B side – made up of younger players – fought competitively. Unfortunately, the competition was abandoned before the final because of Covid-19. Once again, our B1 team performed well and looked destined to take out the competition before the season was abandoned. In the Year 9 and Year 10 competition, the 9.1 team and the J1 side were also doing well in their
respective competitions. In total, College entered two teams in Premier Grade, eight teams in B grade, four at Year 10 and four at Year 9 in the Canterbury Secondary Schools’ Wednesday competition. In addition, we ran a non-competition squad for seniors and juniors, coordinated by Susan Harding and Katie Southworth. In the House competition, Corfe and Condell’s House shared the honours in the junior competition, while the senior event could not be held. It has been another successful year for College Tennis and we are fortunate to have a very strong pool of talented players. I would like to thank Matt Meredith and Hugo Nurse-Strang for their excellent
coaching. I would also like to thank the teaching staff who gave great support throughout the year – Ginny Patterson, Lesley Anderson- McKenna, Zac Knight, Katie Southworth, Susan Harding, Kate Morris, and Josh Kim. Ben Vink – MiC Tennis Josh Kim – Senior A Squad Manager
