Pyramids and prisms

Leon has sorted some shapes into different groups.

Pyramids have triangular faces that meet at a vertex. Prisms have two identical parallel end faces.

1 A pyramid has an octagonal (8 sides) base. How many faces does it have?

2 A prism has an end face that is a hexagon. How many vertices does it have?

3 Name a shape that is not a pyramid or a prism.

4 Explain why a shape can’t be both a pyramid and a prism.
