One hundred centimetres make a metre. Large objects like buildings and trees can be measured in metres. One thousand metres make 1 kilometre. Very large lengths like the lengths of roads and the distances between cities can be measured in kilometres.

3 Sometimes we need to measure in mixed units of measurement. The paddle is longer than 1 metre but shorter than 2 metres.
