1 These are all unit fractions because they represent only one equal part of the whole.

It is easy to compare unit fractions as they all have numerator 1.
The denominator tells us how many equal parts the whole is divided into. The more parts the whole is divided into, the smaller each equal part will be. 1 __ 3 > 1 __ 6 , can you use the fraction wall to explain why?
