HOW TO FIND US BY CAR: Lakeside West Thurrock Way, Grays, Essex, RM20 2ZP. BY TRAIN: C2C rail station Chafford Hundred is a five-minute walk from Lakeside and connected via a pedestrian link bridge. From Lakeside, it can be accessed through the 2nd floor of House of Fraser. BY BUS: Ensign Bus serves the centre. Check their website for a full timetable: ensignbus.com BY BIKE: There are great local cycle routes into Lakeside from Chafford Hundred and Grays, and we’re working with Thurrock Council to make these links even better. National Cycle Routes 13 and 137 also run close to the centre. Cycle parking can be found in Car Park 3 by House of Fraser, Car Park 4 by Primark, and Car Park D by M&S. OPENING TIMES Mon to Sat 9am-9pm Sun 11am-5pm Bank Holidays 10am-6pm Individual store hours may vary, so check with your favourites before you travel. Leisure and external restaurants open till late. A lot of us are feeling lost on what to wear at the moment! Do you have any advice on rediscovering your personal style? Great question! This rings true for many people who have booked a free session with us this past year. To rediscover your personal style, you must start with you – so check-in with yourself. I ask my clients to give me three words to describe the style they want to achieve. I then use these words to help when styling them. What kind of dressing dilemmas can you help with at the Lakeside stylist lounge? We help people with all sorts of style dilemmas, from where to find the perfect jeans to the ideal wedding-guest outfit. However, I find that most people struggle with how they see themselves – which determines where they shop and what they choose. Because they see themselves differently to how they really are, they often go for the wrong items. This leads to disappointment as they don’t find anything they love. Our stylists are impartial – so our view of each client is more realistic, and we know where to find what will suit
them. It’s rare for someone to leave us without finding clothing that they love. What SS22 trend are you most excited to wear? I’m quite intrigued by the miniskirt this season – I tried a great miniskirt suit in H&M that I have my eye on. I’m a sucker for colour too – I’m mostly excited by the rainbow of choice. I haven’t done pink in a while and there is a lot of pink around. I spotted a bright pink biker jacket in Zara that could keep me warm through the cooler nights. How do you feel about the 00s revival? In fashion, everything comes back round at some point. If you love it, go for it. My younger clients (and my stepdaughters) have fully embraced the 00s revival. I won’t be rushing back into a Juicy Couture tracksuit, but it’s nice to see the younger generation embracing some velour. Some of us will be heading back into the office. style. I prefer trainers with a stylish or formal outfit these days. If skinny jeans are out, what cut should we go for? Skinny jeans may be ‘out’ as a trend but if they suit your body shape, stick with them! I’m seeing a lot of high-waisted straight jeans in the shops; these would be a great addition to your denim collection for SS22. It’s going to be a summer full of special occasions. How do you pull together a look for a big event? Personally, I start with the shoes and work my way up, ha ha! Use your three words (as mentioned earlier) to help narrow down the options. For
example, my three words are feminine, sexy, and stylish. I then look out for anything – usually dresses – that fits my style. This also includes colour, pattern, and price. The most important thing is how the final look makes me feel. Finally, if you could only shop in one store ever again, which one would you pick? That’s easy, River Island.
