Adding and subtracting decimals Let’s Learn Together

A stop sign has a height of 2.56 m. A traffic light has a height of 3.1 m. How much taller is the traffic light than the stop sign?

1

Always estimate your answer first.

The stop sign is about 2 and a half, and the traffic light is about 3, so I expect my answer to be about a half.

We can use a written method to find the difference.
