Max Maths - Making Real-World Connections SB5 FULL

Let’s investigate what decimal numbers are produced when you convert fractions to decimals. Start with the number 4 as your denominator. Roll 2 dice to create a 2-digit numerator. Use a calculator to divide your numerator by your denominator. Record your results in a table like this.

Fraction Calculation Answer 22 ___ 4 22 ÷ 4 5.5

Write down anything you notice about the decimal part of your answer. Try to predict the decimal part of your answer before you divide. Repeat for other denominators.
