Money

Multiplying with money Let’s Learn Together Leon bought 8 pens for $1.95 each. How much did he spend? We can use a grid method to multiply decimals. Partition the amount of money by place value.

They are about $2 each, so my answer will be a bit less than $16.

1 × 8 = 8 = $8

90 × 8 = 720 = $7.2

5 × 8 = 40 = $0.4

The total cost is $8 + $7.20 + $0.4 = $15.60

This is close to my estimation.
