Module 2: Amplifying Authentic Engagement Through Influence Unit 3: LinkedIn Groups for Endorsements, Teaming, and Outreach
Accordingly, a further consideration for selecting the right groups in which to garner endorsements is to determine the prevalence of hot topics or new industry/technology challenges that make room for new active participants and their capacity for noticeable contributions. This exposure can be bolstered when the industry(ies) served by the group routinely seek fresh perspectives on burgeoning technologies or growing societal concerns/demands.
So, why is this important? Much like the selection of hashtags and keyword search terms, the selection of skill-based terms is critical to gaining LinkedIn attention. For example, without this rigor, you may find that terms like “exercise routines” or “fitness business” may not attract endorsements from highly skilled individuals since the algorithm may not have rated these ostensible leaders as highly skilled in the context of these precise terms. Slide #3: Trending Topics Inviting Fresh Perspectives Businesses (e.g., industries) unknown for continuous change leave little room for ongoing streams of newsworthy content and vibrant dialogs (i.e., short-lived contributions). No doubt the subject matter covered in many LinkedIn Groups is not always conducive to ongoing education interests (e.g., furniture flipping, lawn irrigation, storage, etc.). In an later session on contagious content, we will learn how the attraction and spreading of content can improve when content is perceived as timely (newsworthy) as well as timeless (evergreen).
