Financial and Medical Advice When You Need It ARE YOUR BENEFITS BENEFITING YOU?
For many reasons, being an employee owner of Franklin Building Supply is an exciting and rewarding opportunity. We often discuss thinking like an owner with the goal of increasing profit. It is exciting to see this through an increasing stock price. However, there are more benefits to being a Franklin employee owner than just stock. A great benefit plan is more than just insurance. The annual renewal is almost here. To take full advantage of what’s available, it’s important to know and understand these benefits. Employee stock is a retirement tool. A 401(k) savings plan is another valuable and important retirement tool available to you. While employee stock is a big highlight of working with Franklin, you have solid reasons for using the 401(k) plan to its fullest. It’s important to have a variety of nest eggs, not in multiple baskets. As a young ESOP, it’s possible employee stock won’t be enough to fund a comfortable retirement alone. Another benefit of putting money in a 401(k) is paying less in taxes, possibly now, in the future, or both! At Franklin, 401(k) saving starts automatically at 2%. Life pro tip: Bump that savings rate up to 5% or 6%. The difference will be hardly noticeable today, but it makes a big difference in the future. Log on to American Trust to view and update your account or visit with the HR team. Another benefit available to you is personal financial planning assistance. Available in person, video, or phone are Boise-based planners who want
to help you and your family achieve your goals. This can be either for retirement or shorter-term plans such as buying a home, paying off a credit card, or college savings. This benefit will put you in the driver’s seat of life.

While a clean bill of financial health is important and talked about often, it doesn’t benefit much without the physical or mental well-being to enjoy it. It shouldn’t be a surprise that Franklin’s benefits make this convenient and easy. When is the last time a doctor has come to your house or office? With MDLive and the employee assistance program, help is available anywhere and any time you need it for almost anything. Try a doctor’s visit from your house late at night or the office during lunch. Instead of driving and sitting in a cold waiting room, enjoy relaxing and wondering why you didn’t try it sooner. This easy-access help isn’t just for fevers or allergic reactions but for whatever is keeping you up at night or causing stress — sick parents or teenagers or maybe you’re feeling down and unsure what to do. Everyone knows life happens. Help is ready and waiting at MDLive.com/regence-id. Thinking like an owner takes more than just being an employee. Having zero accidents, continuously improving processes, and working to meet company goals are a challenge. Team members care and depend on each other’s personal well-being. Being in the best condition possible, mentally and physically, is also thinking like an owner. These benefits are meant to help you do just that — using them to their fullest will help you be successful both at work and at home.

HIGH-FIVES
From: Ben Thomas, McCall To: Wayne Dingman and Patrick Clark, McCall
From: Ritchie Rodriguez, Boise To: Cabinet Shop, Boise
A big high-five goes out to Wayne Dingman and Patrick Clark! I ran into a cash customer over the weekend, and he mentioned how upbeat and friendly our crew was and how helpful they have been in getting him the right products even though he isn’t a contractor. His exact words were, “They are indeed making building easy.” Nice job, Wayne and Patrick! Keep up the good work!
I would like to take the time to acknowledge our department and entire team. Recently, we have been dealing with issues that vary in many areas, including switching vendors and with some of our own processes that have been in place for quite some time. When it comes to processes everyone is used to, it is hard to deal with change. Not all change is good and not all change is bad, but how you accept it and choose to deal with it makes it work. Our team has come together incredibly well in every position from the start of a job to the end of it. It takes every one of us to pull it off, and the team has had the positive attitude and determination to get through. It really shows how ideas and solutions from every employee can get a team through any transition. Our teamwork and our passion for what we do really make me so proud. I wanted to recognize the team so they know how appreciative I am for every one of them. Thank you to the Cabinet Department and a big high- five to you all. We will continue to get through these changes and difficult times. I am so blessed and thankful for the team I get to work with and that is behind me every day.
From: Jamie Proffitt, Boise To: Randy Forgy, Caldwell
I want to recognize Randy Forgy, the driver supervisor in Caldwell, for a couple of major equipment safety catches. The first was from the factory: The Mack Granites were missing a suspension component that helps keep the leaf springs in alignment. Randy and the Caldwell Drive Team noticed the leaf springs had begun to fan, indicating repairs are needed. Mack sent out a nationwide recall in response to the issue. Randy and the Caldwell Drive Team showed World Class Safety. Randy and his team had a second “good catch.” To stay within budget, the company purchased several trailers second-hand and these trailers had developed potential safety issues. Randy initially took notice of this with one trailer in the Boise yard and calls were made to the other locations with the same trailers. Repairs have been completed and Randy’s attention to this highlighted an important area to add to our checklist when buying used equipment. Thank you, Randy, for being you. From: Dale Hansen, Boise To: Eric Grant, Boise I want to give a shoutout to Eric Grant. Scheduling is a very challenging task that requires a great deal of organization and pride of ownership. Whether finding a way to adjust for a 911 and take care of a builder, or thinking forward to implement additional time working with the install team, Eric does an amazing job leading us through scheduling challenges and continually looks for ways to improve to get us to the finish line. Thanks, Eric!
From: Anthony Matney, Caldwell To: Neil Bullock, Caldwell
From the first day Neil joined our team, he has been noticed as an A-player — never questioning the duty at hand, always doing as he’s asked, and looking for opportunities to help others. Neil is constantly picking up the debris in the yard to help maintain a clean and safe work environment for everyone including management, drivers, load builders, and customers. He has also shown a great willingness to learn more about the company and his fellow employees by getting involved at company events. Thanks, Neil, for being a member of the Caldwell FBS Yard.
From: Eric Schuessler, Boise To: Kent Jobe, Jaguar
I just would like to send out an “FBS High-Five” to Kent Jobe. I have had the opportunity to go on many customer relationship trips with Kent over the past few years, and the sentiment is always the same with all my customers. They feel exactly how Anthony Collins with Brighton sums it up below. I have received positive verbal feedback numerous times. This shows how invaluable these customer relationship trips are to our daily business and to keeping an open line of communication between our customers and FBS. Anthony: “Thank you, gentlemen, for inviting me on the Ennis fishing trip! I had a great time meeting new guys and reconnecting with guys I hadn’t seen in years. Kent, you did an amazing job organizing a trip where 7-10 strangers could come together and form a bond after three days. Eric, as always, keep doing the amazing job you do day in and day out. I really appreciate everything you gentlemen have done as well as everyone at FBS. You are all rock stars!!”
From: Dale Hansen, Boise To: Cabinet Install and Manufacturing Team, Boise
This is a broad shoutout covering all aspects of cabinets. The Install and Manufacturing team has been working through many speed bumps getting the cabinet shop back to a manageable state over the last couple of weeks. This includes the closure of our paint and stain phase as well as overcoming numerous challenges with vendor commitments and equipment breakdowns. The team has made huge strides in manufacturing, organizing, and prioritizing product coming in, going out, and being installed. This has been a very trying time and the team has worked together to find outside-the-box solutions to anything that comes their way. Their attitude and diligence put them at the top of the list of any team I have had the pleasure to be a part of. Thanks for all your efforts. Looking forward to the future!

BREAKING GROUND! Introducing Our Boise Door Shop Expansion
A new addition to the Boise Door Shop is underway, and we are proud to say the dirt has certainly been flying!
The new space and machinery will reduce manual lifting and machining, which puts daily strain on our team members. With the additional space, the chance of injury is greatly reduced as there will be more separation between pedestrians and forklifts, and material can be stored
Back in 2020, in an effort to get the most out of our manufacturing facility and to uphold our 2026 vision of “Safe, Guide, Wow, and Strive,” we began researching new equipment for the future so more accounts could be serviced while maintaining quality and accuracy in our product. The KVAL Apex CNC Door Machine caught our eye, but due to its size, this equipment required more square footage. Thus, we decided to grow our facility, and the new 35,000-square- foot trim shed addition came to fruition. Our current existing space will now be dedicated to more space for door production. “With more space for production, we can invest in state- of-the-art equipment like the KVAL machine and
more safely. Boise Finish is also replacing outdated forklifts with five multi-directional forklifts. These lifts will allow for more narrow aisles, maximizing our growth and utilization of the space as well as promoting the safety of our folks.
Franklin Building Supply’s goal is to be a world-class door shop that
makes building easy. A lot of work and dedication have been put into this from the bottom up, and we are proud to say that all of our team members have been extremely supportive in bringing this vision to life. We are excited for completion and cannot wait to share the final product with you! Stay tuned and thank
ramp up our manufacturing capabilities,” Door/Finish Facility Manager Trent McKnight says. “This will also allow us to stock more finish material, buy better, pull loads more efficiently, and reduce the turnaround time for our deliveries.”
you for your continued support!

Employee Spotlight
SPOTLIGHT ON ANTHONY MATNEY Showing Appreciation for Our Dedicated Team Members
At Franklin Building Supply, we are proud to showcase our team members who give their all to turn dreams into reality for our customers. Hands down, the best quality our employees possess is genuine care for our clients and their satisfaction. Our employees always exemplify and stand behind our morals and values and provide the best service for our customers. Anthony, a load builder at our Caldwell location, has been with us for a little over a year, but it seems much longer than that! His professionalism, knowledge, customer service skills, and work ethic match that of a tenured employee — we are lucky to have him on board! Anthony is extremely grateful for his coworkers who provide a positive working atmosphere and a team he can rely upon. He takes pride in his work ethic, which helps
him achieve goals and get the job done in the most efficient and beneficial way. LEAN, a series of five principles designed to improve efficiency in the workplace, plays a significant role in Anthony’s day-to-day operations. “It helps me to do my job efficiently and successfully the first time,” Anthony tells us. “The main goal is to ensure my team, our customer, and I are happy.” Outside of work, Anthony enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, family, and friends. “I love the water,” he says. “You can always find me enjoying swimming in any river or body of water.” He also enjoys playing softball and chairing AA recovery meetings on a weekly basis. Anthony, we are so grateful to have you as a member of the Franklin Building Supply family. Your passion for and dedication to your career and customers are second to none! We appreciate you!
