The CT AutoClean has an integrated filter cleaning mechanism that periodically knocks the dust free of the filter. This guarantees maximum air flow and prevents the filter from becoming caked with dust. The filter cleaning frequency is controlled by a dial and can be completely disabled. The CT AutoClean can be used as a regular dust extractor when run without the AutoClean enabled.

The Festool CT pre-separator with cyclone technology separates and collects coarse adn fine dust before it reaches the mobile dust extractor. The dust-heavy air that is drawn in is swirled into a spirla movement in the cyclone, causing the dust particles to hit against the wall of the cyclone and, due to the gravitational force, to fall into the collection container of the CT pre-separator.
