ETS Accessories Though matching the abrasive to the material is critical, choosing the right pad shouldn’t be overlooked, since it can make a huge difference in the finished surface quality. For maintaining a crisp edge, Festool recommends hard pads. For contours and profiles, we suggest the super-soft pad. And for general-purpose sanding, the standard supplied soft pad is well-suited for most applications.

Interface Sander Backing Pad Extremely soft foam pads, the interface pads allow the abrasive to float, producing smoother results on delicate profiles and contours.
