THE DECA DE OF THE WOMAN DR. REGINA MAR T I N
When I received the phone call about this amazing opportunity to be featured in this magazine, I was so excited, and it spoke so much volume to what the spirit of the Lord is doing in this hour. The book of Joel 2:28 says " And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh ." This is a radical pouring that is releasing radical voices of the hour. You that are reading this article it is not by coincidence. I believe our last election in 2020 was monumental, we had the first African American FEMALE to be elected as Vice President. I remember Holy Spirit saying to me as we were entering 2020 that it was the Year of The Woman. I had no idea when he spoke to me, that he was saying he would raise up bold, courageous, and anointed women to speak against powers and principalities.
God is using those that have gone through much pain, have endured many trials, and have overcome many battles and he is bringing them forth out of obscurity, giving them beauty for ashes and he is raising them up as in-time voices to change the world. I never had political aspirations and when I say that I mean it. I never saw myself in the position that I am in now. As of this year, I would be pastoring for 12 years, it was very comfortable for me to be an entrepreneur. I have a boutique It's HER by Regina, a school The Embassy Academy K-12th grade and I am a serial entrepreneur. Who would have ever thought that God could take a woman from welfare and now pastoring a healthy growing church in South Florida?
I am here to tell you if God can do it for me, he can do it for you because he is no respecter of persons ( Acts 10:34 ). People of God, particularly women, because this is the decade of the Woman submit themselves to what you hear in your time of prayer. What you have heard in your prayer, God will make possible. This is your greatest hour, in spite of all that has happened to you, this was the contraction and the preparations that you needed to propel and launch into your destiny. On your mark, get set, and Go! This is your go time; it is now your time to apply pressure so the holy spirit can penetrate and permeate all the world ( Mark 16:15 ). Last but definitely the beginning, in 2019 the Lord said to me that he would begin to open up doors for me. I remember I sat in front of one of the gatekeepers in the political arena who asked me a question and that was "What can I do for you?" I had no idea that that question and my answers would be the key to unlocking my political seat. In 2020, I ran for my seat and won by a landslide and made history as the first Caribbean Woman to sit in that seat in 57 years. Two years later I am the first Caribbean Woman Vice Mayor in the entire county in 60 years.

Bullying and Bullies In The Church “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 7:12-23) By Prophetess Joni Ames
Dear Friends,
We hear a lot about bullies in schools and tough neighborhoods. But most would never think that it exists in the church. However, sad to say, it does.
Shockingly, it does not just exist among children.
Even in the Bible, two grown brothers named Cain and Abel battled that demonic monster. I have always been someone that reached out to other people and tried to make them feel welcomed, loved, and included. Even when I began to have my own ministry, I tried to help raise others. I felt in my spirit that the Lord said that every door He opened for me, I was to hold open for others. So I did. It shocked me that God gave me so many open doors. But those early days were also at times difficult. You would think your friends would be happy when good things happen to you. But I was in for a big surprise. I never would have thought that someone would become a jealous bully. Especially other women's friends in the church.
10 | TNT MAGAZINE
When I started out, it seemed like all hell broke loose in my life. My son left home and began to get in trouble, my car died, I had one financial situation after another, and some of my closest friends berated, bullied, and betrayed me. Even a few ministry leaders were a part of that wolf pack. I was all alone in the world, so my church family was the only family I had. So to be treated badly by anyone in the church was devastating to me. A couple of people even told me that they were treating me badly to help to make me strong. How insane! My abusive mother had told me the same thing. If it hadn’t been for the Lord, I would not have made it through that season alive. But God is so faithful! He also gave me some true friends. He opened some amazing doors. And He also gave me an inexplicable inner joy and peace that caused me to ignore the bullies and continue to press forward, no matter what happened. I’ll never forget what He told me. “If you let anything start stopping you, it will never stop stopping you. So don’t let it start.”
I was heading up the women’s ministry at my church, and it was flourishing in spite of all the other things that were going on. Two church women went to my pastor and told him lies about it and me, and had it taken out from under me and given to them. They had never even been to one of my meetings. As I was feeling sorry for myself, the Lord came to me. He told me, “What they are doing will not flourish, but let it go. It’s one small church ministry. I will give to you the nation.” He reminded me of the saying, “If you let go of what’s in your hand, I’ll give you what’s in mine.” Within a short time, I was traveling everywhere and taking women’s ministry teams with me. And very soon, I began to hold large conferences for women in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina, where 1600 to 1800 women would come from all over the nation and the world. We couldn’t stop women from registering! Consequently, we had to move to Charlotte‘s largest conference venue.
I didn’t know what that meant, and I didn’t know who my enemies were. So I just said “Thank you, Lord. I forgive whomever they are.” Then I went on about my business. Favor upon favor occurred for me during that conference. Then to top it off, I was invited to a non-related very special dinner at the other end of the conference center. Not only that but I was invited to be at the head table.
I was very nervous and felt out of place, but sat where I was told.
Oh yes, and what God said happened. The reign of those two women over that small church women’s ministry group folded quickly. When God says to do to others what you want to be done to you, you better be careful. He takes you up on that. What you dish out will come back to bite you. The world calls it Karma. It’s actually God’s justice. I don’t rejoice in anyone’s misfortune. But (Prophet) Bob Jones once told me that people don’t usually repent until they receive the fruit of the injustices they do to others. And of course, it’s God’s heart that they do eventually come to that point. One time I was to speak at a very large conference in the Charlotte area. When I walked through the front doors of the venue, the Lord said to me that He was going to set a table for me in the midst of my enemies that weekend. (Ref. Psalm 23:5)
When it was time to get up to go to the buffet table for our food, the leader had me go first. As we walked past the other tables to get to the food on the buffet table, we passed table after table full of people that I knew. Seated at some of those tables were several who had severely betrayed me. I was shocked. God had truly set a table before me in the midst of my enemies.

This year on the Jewish calendar is the Year of God’s Retribution, Paybacks, Justice, and Revenge. Don’t try to get your own. His justice is sweet. It may even include the salvation of that person who wronged you. So as they say, “Let go and let God.” “Vengeance is Mine and recompense; Their foot shall slip in due time For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things to come hasten upon them.” (Deuteronomy 32:35) (17) “Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. (18) If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. (19) Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.”(Romans 12:17-19) When God exacts His vengeance upon our enemies and His justice prevails, that means that our blessings are retrieved from the enemy and restored to us. Sevenfold. (Proverbs 6:31) So let’s stay out of God’s way and let Him work on our behalf. I have many other such stories about experiences I have had. But having been bullied at times in my life, I have a heart for others who have experienced the same. It’s been my heart and life’s goal to help heal and restore such people. Especially those who have been hurt by family, friends, or the church.
If you have been bullied, I pray for your healing and restoration. God is no respecter of persons. What He did for me, He will do for you.
May we all be victors, and not victims.
The best IS yet to come!!!

PROPHETIC PROPHETIC PROPHETIC
Godly understanding unlocks the wisdom and power of God to operate in your life. Power comes from you having understanding . You can cause spiritual things to manifest when you have understanding. This is also known as Revelation. It is not simply about what you have read or even what is written, its about your understanding about what you have learned and how you can apply it in your life . Wisdom is applied knowledge . The enemy, however hopes to get you in a technicality. His hope is that you never learn who you are in Christ and never discover the power and authority that you have and that you posses. His hope is to keep you unfruitful and carnal . I remember as a young girl hearing the scripture that says ‘ He ʼ s given us the keys to the kingdom of heaven whatsoever you bind on earth has been been bound in heaven ...” It sounded so good but I did not know anything about how to bind or how to bound the enemy let alone how to get things as they were in heaven . Even in the prayer Luke 11, Jesus says ‘ Give us this day our daily bread .. ʼʼ I had been in prayer since I was a child with no knowledge of what Jesus meant ! Now, when you read the prayer with understanding you see Jesus giving the Father the glory and praise and acknowledge him by saying ‘ Our Father which art in heaven , Hallowed be thy name ‘ ʼ . .
He then goes on to say ‘ Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done ‘ ʼ on earth , as in heaven. ʼʼ That means we are to bring heaven on earth because we are not citizens of earth but we are ciztiens of heaven. So you have to release things from heaven to come down to earth by speaking in the authority and power confessing God words into earth . Then the whole prayer changes when Jesus says ‘ ʼ give us this day our daily bread ‘ ʼ You ʼ ll notice that Jesus is not praying from a begging standpoint . Many of you are praying but your begging . ‘ ʼ Father if it be thy will .. ʼ is what many of you pray but you have to know what it is HIS will . That is where the enemy has gotten you on a technicality . You don ʼ t know what the will of God is in your Life yet and if you don ʼ t know what God ʼ s you can ʼ t enforce it . Jesus was praying to the Father from a position of knowing who he is and what he has and what belongs to him . He was placing a demand . When you pray your coming from a place of fear , doubt and uncertainty . You don ʼ t really believe yet everything God has for you is yours . You don ʼ t really believe yet that its his desires for you to be in good health and prosper even as your soul prospers , which is why you say ‘ ʼ If it be thy will.. ʼʼ It is his will ! Stop asking for certain things and start demanding , decreeing and releasing them . Understand that this is your inheritance and it belongs to you CORNER CORNER CORNER

REAL TALK WITH
A
CONVERSATION WITH Real
BY CHRISTIAN CADLE, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, TNT MAGAZINE
As we gear up to welcome Real Talk Kim to our first Becoming the Proverbs 31 Woman’s event in 2023 with Prophetess Taryn N. Tarver-Bishop, we had the privilege to ask Pastor Kim a few questions to get you ready for what you can expect at our life-changing event on Saturday, February 18th. Be sure to register at www.lifelinetnt.org to experience the power of God through Prophetess TNT and Real Talk Kim, two of God’s nuclear weapons, as they bring the fire of God to set the captives free. I was first introduced to Real Talk Kim when I was invited to attend her event about seven years ago in Los Angeles, California. All I can say is that it was an event I will never forget. It was the first time I had ever witnessed a woman bring the word of God with boldness, power, authority, and TRANSPARENCY. I had been in church my entire life and never heard ANYONE share their testimony with such raw and real vulnerability. It was because of her transparency that I learned that I did not have to be ashamed of my past and that God could take my mess and turn it into my message for His Glory. I knew I wanted to learn more from Real Talk Kim so I began to wake up at 3:45 am (PST) so that I could join her 7 am prayer call. I knew God was using her to change my life and the lives of others and I wanted to receive from her even if it meant I had to sacrifice sleep to do so.
Many women aspire to be like the Proverbs 31 woman that we read about in the Bible. She was a woman who was wise, virtuous, business savvy, honored and respected by her family and so much more. You too are a woman that one would describe as a Proverbs 31 woman. You’re a mother, a pastor, an entrepreneur, a mentor, a motivational speaker, an entertainer, and a 5-time best-selling author.

God began to heal me over the next five years. I fell in love with myself. I fell in love with God, for real!
How would you describe your journey to becoming a Proverbs 31 woman? Long… I was so stubborn! I always needed to be in control and quite the rebel preacher’s daughter. It took me hitting rock bottom at 36 to shift me. I lost everything after my 18-year marriage ended. I had to face myself. I literally decided I didn’t like myself and I was going to let God heal me everywhere I hurt and wouldn’t abort the mission. No matter how long it took. I had to unlearn so much that society had taught me. I put a do not disturb up on my heart and rolled up my sleeves and went deep diving into my messy heart. God began to heal me over the next five years. I fell in love with myself. I fell in love with God, for real! My life began to feel like it was on a fast rollercoaster. I began to see God radically change me into a strong Proverbs 31 woman with a generational anointing to set captives free. I think God knew I would be a transparent preaching beast. He knew I would give hell a headache every day I woke up. I lost everything at 36. Preached my first sermon healed at 41. Wrote my first book at 43. Here I am 50 and realize my life is just beginning. I pinch myself every day that I get to preach all over the world weekly and Pastor the greatest church on the planet. Just ten years ago I was working in cosmetics. God loves to show out. That’s how I became a Proverbs 31 woman. Obedience. I put in the work. I never quit.
Some women may think well that’s nice for her, but I’m (fill in the blank) too old, divorced, never been married, broke, the list goes on, I could never be the Proverbs 31 woman… What would you say to the woman who may be feeling like they could never be like the Proverbs 31 woman as described in scripture? Stop believing those lies. You have a superpower. You can birth life out of your body. You can come back from anything. Until you see yourself as a daughter of royalty you won’t act like it. You gotta tell yourself every day, “As long as I gotta pulse, God’s gotta plan” you have to be your biggest cheerleader. Get some people around you who won’t let you quit. Who pushes you to breakthroughs and not breakdowns. The way you talk and see yourself will determine your destiny. Change it and be intentional about being the first one in your family to break generational curses. You are bold, confident, transparent, and really know how to invade people with hope, grace, and the love of God. Being familiar with your story, I know that it wasn’t always like that for you. “As long as I gotta pulse, God’s gotta plan”
Can you share what you were like before, when the shift happened and how you become the bold and confident woman that you are today? I was a preacher’s kid. I was bad. I was rebellious. Couldn’t tell me anything, I was tore up from the floor up. I was raised in a religion that said “women couldn’t preach” and basically women felt less than. Well, I didn’t like that so I rebelled. I was proving a point to the world but ended up hurting myself. I was at World Harvest Bible School and ended up dropping out because Pastor Rod Parsley wouldn’t let me date the piano boy. Ended up marrying him and that was eighteen years of up-and-down mess. Finally, around thirty-six it ended and it brought me to my knees. I was broken for real. Lost and confused and felt like an unlovable broken human. The next few years were the best years of my life for healing. They were hard but I refused to quit. I felt like God was going to do something special in me if I kept showing up and healing myself. He did. At thirty- nine I was radically changed. I looked like a completely different person. I got saved for real and God become my everything. I was preaching in my car back then and posting daily on social media. Those videos took off and God revealed me to the world. God showed me that I thought because the curtain had closed in my life the production was over. But God had to close the curtain to set up for the next scene. The scene He was going to be behind. I’m so thankful I surrendered .
Look at what God has done. Now, Pastor Rod Parsley is my spiritual dad and he is so proud of me. Y ou talk a lot about your pain becoming your purpose… What was the defining moment when you realized that your pain had become your purpose? When I had videos go viral. I realized that the thing that God was using to unveil me before the entire world once was my greatest pain. I would just talk to the world transparently about my past and how God healed me. The world related and God trusted me. God always will use your worst pain to elevate you to the world if you let him. He doesn’t waste your hell. We often do this by not talking about our past.
What advice would you give to find purpose and how do you know when you are operating in purpose? I find that your purpose is connected to serving in some way. Whether it's serving at your church. Maybe doing a connect group or bible study. It could be posting lives on socials. It’s absolutely connected to that thing on the inside of you that gives you so much joy when you talk about it or do it. Finding your purpose is really easy if you pay attention to your life. We make it more difficult than it needs to be. Find a need in your world and fill it. What are some tips that you can share on how to overcome inadequacy, insecurity, and negative self-talk? In your book Shut Hell Up, you share your story of how you overcame feelings of inadequacy, insecurity, and negative self-talk. I used to put post-it notes all over my house. I would tell myself whom God created me to be. I literally talk to myself all day. I won’t let myself not do something because I’m scared. I jump even with my knees knocking. I also am very careful whom I follow on socials and whom I let close into my inner circle. I am very protective of my anointing. I listen to podcasts that push me out into faith. I listen to preaching that makes me fearless. Everything I put in my spirit is growing me daily. You have to be intentional. I am very focused on staying healthy in my mind body and soul as well as my outside. I feel better when I look better.
I believe this year is a year to STRETCH ourselves and EXECUTE. No playing small ladies. We are trailblazers. Let’s go!!!

by Pastor Van Brown I remember growing up as a kid and to my recollection there were no moments of sitting at the dinner table together as a family. We had such a large family, 6 siblings, my mother and father, our dining table simply did not accommodate us.
Dinner time was simply spent with all of us in different locations, my father in his room, my mom and sisters in theirs and the brothers in the living room watching tv. This happened every dinner whether it was on a weekend
or a weekday. I never thought it to be strange. I know that we have a loving family and I know that we love spending time with each other but there’s a difference between
knowing something and having evidence of it. Is it possible, simply because we have never experienced this kind of intimacy before we didn’t know what we (continued on next page)
(continued) were missing? Not only that, my parents had a loveless marriage, my siblings and I saw a roommate situation masquerading as a marriage. Don’t get me wrong they were civil when they spoke and always made sure that the kids were taken care of physically and financially. I’m learning that it takes more than that to produce a successful leader and lover of life. When I was old enough to start dating I would go to other families homes and I noticed they actually sat to have dinner and had these weird discussions about their day. In my early dating life, I suffered tremendously, not only did I not have the confidence but I lacked the ingredients in order to demonstrate what was really inside of me. And life rewarded me according to the foundation I was given. This is not an attempt to cast blame towards my parents, they simply gave me everything they had. I know this to be true simply because on my journey to wholeness I did some research on the parental style of my grandparents and I realized they simply duplicated what they saw. I thank them for the rich work ethic, the ability to protect and provide and now I simply have to build upon the love and the sensitivity training.

The goal is never to hold grudges against your parents or parental guidance that raise you, always come from a place of gratitude. Some of you may have the feeling of, there is nothing to be grateful for, but I will remind you, feelings aren’t facts. Find a way to give gratitude for those who took care and provided for you when you were unable to and make a promise to yourself to build upon what they gave. Find someone that you trust, do a self inventory, study the people that raise you, what are the challenges that you face from them raising you? Remember you’re not trying to be excellent you only want the truth about the things you struggle with. Is it forgiveness? Lack of patience? The inability to commit? Are you violent? All of these things as bad as they may seem are simply coping mechanisms that you have adopted in order to protect yourself. But I have great news, with the right environment, love and encouragement, life has a way of always introducing you back to your true self. But it only can work if you are truthful, let humility be your best friend. There are some things that I have to change in order for me to be my best, be radical about it. And I promise you as you carefully replace the coping mechanisms with principles and truths about yourself the real you will emerge and people will pay you to be yourself. Use your early domestication to drive you to success, simply saying I don’t want another person to encounter mediocrity.

God can see the things that are in us that we need to work on that we might try to hide from others. This means that we can go about our day showing people who we want them to think of us to be but God knows who we are. He knows our past, our hurts, our likes and dislikes, how we treat people, and the choices we make and are going to make. He even knows the number of hairs on our head Luke 12:7 . The question is what kind of heart do you have? Do you have a stony heart or a heart of flesh? God is always giving situations to us to see how we will react to things to reveal to us what is in our hearts. God wants to make us become like pure gold so we can demonstrate and become more like Jesus. Gold is made when you heat it hot and then all the bad things in the gold that people don't want in the gold are removed then the process is repeated to get the pure gold. So this is the process God wants to take us through.
When things come up inside you that you don't like or that others can see that is wrong inside you, those are the things God wants to show you to give to Him. So don't hide or feel ashamed rather put everything that comes to the surface to God and ask him to take those things from you and give you the heart of Jesus. Ask God to reveal to me Lord the things in my heart and God will show you the way. It is not to hurt or harm you but to mold you into all God wants you to be. So the next time you have not-so- good things rise in you, pray your prayer points to the Lord, and your transformation will begin.

The Bible also emphasizes loving one another as it is one of the two greatest commandments. Mark 12:31 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." Although the Bible does not use the word "cherish" specifically, there are passages that convey similar ideas. For example, Ephesians 5:25-28 , states: " Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself ." This passage emphasizes the idea of cherishing one's spouse, by loving, sacrificing, and valuing them as Christ loved the Church. Proverbs 31:10-12 “ A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.” This passage shows the importance of cherishing and valuing a wife. Colossians 3:14 “ And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. ” This passage also emphasizes the idea of cherishing one another by binding all virtues together with love. As we have read in scripture, the demonstrated love of God, for humanity, is a clear example for couples to emulate in deeds this depth of love by cherishing each other in the same manner. With that being said, it is our responsibility to go beyond The Celebration of Valentine's Day in February, and vow to ourselves and to God, that we will incorporate His example of Sacrificial Cherishing Love for one another.
o cherish someone versus just loving someone can be seen as a deeper depth of LOVE…
What does it mean to cherish? Cherishing someone involves active acts of showing high value, appreciation, car ing, consideration, and respect in the way a person is treated and cared for both privately and publicly. It's an expression of love through actions, not just feelings. Cherishing can be considered an advanced form of love that reaches far beyond the feelings of affection and attachment to someone. The Bible teaches that true love at this depth involves sacrifice! The Bible has many passages that describe love, but perhaps the most mentioned is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 , which states:
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hope, always perseveres."
This passage describes love as Selfless, Sacrificial, Intentional, and Unconditional. Additionally, the Bible teaches that the ultimate example of love is God's love for humani ty demonstrated through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. John 3:16 states, "For God so loved the world that he gave (Grk: In This MANNER, God Loved the world that HE GAVE…) his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Our prayer for you…
Lord, give us the capacity to love beyond our own ability. We pray for healing and deliverance that will free us from all hidden obstacles in the Mighty Name of Jesus... Amen
Enjoy the Celebration of Love! Blessings, Pastor Ron and LaDonna Roberts

Your scars are stripes in the Spirit Realm and with every sleepless night you are gaining rank. But I don’t just want to encourage you with words, I want to offer solutions! Below is a list of things that have helped me in my journey to discovering balance within marriage, motherhood, and ministry. The 3 M's! Start your morning with the word. Set the tone for your day with the Holy Spirit and renewed mind. Leave yesterday in the past and press on. Even if you have a hectic morning with the kids turn on the word and/or worship. Budget in a deep clean once a month. The truth is we don’t always have the time to deep clean like we used to and this is okay! Find a way to budget for an affordable someone to come in and scrub the toilets and showers so that it takes a load off you mom. This helps with my mental health tremendously. TRY IT! Meal prep. Make Sunday your Trader Joe's or Costco day and get dinner for the entire week. I recommend getting quick meals that you can throw in the oven! And/or making two big meals during the week that can be eaten for at least a couple of days. Let’s work smarter, not harder as it pertains to catering to our spouse and/or our children.
like to call motherhood “mommy-hood” simply because motherhood can be really ghetto sometimes! Sleepless nights, loads of laundry, dirty dishes, and a running to-do list in your head that sometimes feels like it doesn’t get any smaller despite the more you accomplish. OH, not to mention that things take turns getting done in the house. Gone are the days when you could spend the entire day listening to worship music and gracefully completing everything on your to-do list before sunset. Welcome to the hood ladies! This is motherhood. This is the call. And although it may sometimes feel overbearing, you were made for this! Your “yes” qualifies you. Although I say that comically, I mean it in the coolest way possible. Welcome to the hood that not everyone is graced to be a part of. Welcome to a lifetime of cuddles and wet open mouth kisses that make your heart melt. Welcome to the woman of fire, God is calling you to be with each child you birth into this world. Welcome to the CALL! To walk the floors of your home at night and cover your little ones in prayer. Anointing oil dripping from your hands and tears from your eyes as you remember all the sacrifices you have made and how GOOD the Lord Jesus has been.
MOTHERHOOD
Once a month treat yourself to a trip to the salon. Whether you are getting your brows, nails, feet, or hair done we know that when we look good, we feel better! Making this a priority will change your mood, I promise you. You deserve that. NO “mom guilt”. Especially for those that are married or are waiting for your purposeful partner. Always keep it together the best that you can. Men love when women take care of themselves. Lean into the Lord when things feel overwhelming! Cast your anxieties onto him. Tell him how you are feeling. He desires to hear from you in a vulnerable state not just when we are feeling good. Trust that He is listening and that He will give you peace during a time of trouble.
So welcome to the hood where we figure it out because we are just that gangster! Moms are superheroes in Spirit Love, Prophetess Taryn Monique www.tarynmoniquewatson.com

LOWER BACK PAINS By LaChune Price, MPAS, PA-C
ower back pain is very common. L It can result from a strain (injury) to muscles or tendons in the back. Other causes include arthritis, structural problems, and disk injuries. Pain often gets better with rest, physical therapy, and medication. Reduce your risk of low back pain by keeping at a healthy weight and staying active. What is lower back pain? Low back pain can result from many different injuries, conditions or
How common is lower back pain? Around four out of five people have lower back pain at some point in their lives. It’s one of the most common reasons people visit healthcare providers. Some people are more likely to have lower back pain than others. Risk factors for lower back pain include:
Age: People over 30 have more back pain. Disks (soft, rubbery tissue that cushions the bones
Pain can range from mild to severe. In some cases, pain can make it difficult or impossible to walk, sleep, work, or do everyday activities. Usually, lower back pain gets better with rest, pain relievers, and physical therapy (PT). Cortisone injections and hands-on treatments (like osteopathic or chiropractic manipulation) can relieve pain and help the healing process. Some back injuries and conditions require surgical repair. diseases — most often, an injury to muscles or tendons in the back.
in the spine) wear away with age. As the disks weaken and wear down, pain and stiffness can result. Weight: People have overweight/obese or carry extra weight are more likely to have back pain. Excess weight puts pressure on joints and disks. Overall health: Weakened abdominal muscles can’t support the spine, which can lead to back sprains and strains. People who smoke, drink alcohol excessively, or live a sedentary lifestyle have a higher risk of back pain.

Occupation and lifestyle: Jobs and activities that require heavy lifting or bending can increase the risk of a back injury. Structural problems: Severe back pain can result from conditions, such as scoliosis, that change spine alignment. Disease: People who have a family history of osteoarthritis, certain types of cancer, and other diseases have a higher risk of low back pain.
Mental Health: Back pain can result from depression and anxiety. What are the symptoms of lower back pain? Symptoms of lower back pain can come on suddenly or appear gradually. Symptoms of lower back pain can come on suddenly or appear gradually. Sometimes, pain occurs after a specific event, such as bending to pick something up. Other times, you may not know what caused the pain. Pain may be sharp or dull and achy, and it may radiate to your bottom or down the back of your legs (sciatica). If you strain your back during an activity, you may hear a “pop” when it happened. Pain is often worse in certain positions (like bending over) and gets better when you lie down. Other symptoms of lower back pain include: Stiffness: It may be tough to move or straighten your back. Getting up from a seated position may take a while, and you might feel like you need to walk or stretch to loosen up. You may notice a decreased range of motion. Posture problems: Many people with back pain find it hard to stand up straight. You may stand “crooked” or bent
with your torso off to the side rather than aligned with your spine. Your lower back may look flat instead of curved. Muscle spasms: After a strain, muscles in the lower back can spasm or contract uncontrollably. Muscle spasms can cause extreme pain and make it difficult or impossible to stand, walk or move. What causes lower back pain? Many injuries, conditions, and diseases can cause lower back pain. They include: Strains and sprains: Back strains and sprains are the most common cause of back pain. You can injure muscles, tendons, or ligaments by lifting something too heavy or not lifting safely. Some people strain their back by sneezing, coughing, twisting, or bending over. Fractures: The bones in the spine can break during an accident, like a car crash or a fall. Certain conditions (such as spondylolysis or osteoporosis) increase the risk of fractures.
How is lower back pain diagnosed? Your provider will ask about your symptoms and do a physical exam. To check for broken bones or other damage, your provider may order imaging studies. These studies help your provider see clear pictures of your vertebrae, disks, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Your provider may order: Spine X-ray, which uses radiation to produce images of bones. MRI uses a magnet and radio waves to create pictures of bones, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. CT scan, which uses X-rays and a computer to create 3D images of bones and soft tissues. Electromyography (EMG) tests nerves and muscles and checks for neuropathy (nerve damage), which can cause tingling or numbness in your legs. Depending on the cause of the pain, your provider may also order blood tests or urine tests. Blood tests can detect genetic markers for some conditions that cause back pain (such as ankylosing spondylitis). Urine tests check for kidney stones, which cause pain in the flank (the sides of the low back). What are the treatments for lower back pain? Lower back pain usually gets better with rest, ice, and over-the-counter pain relievers. After a few days of rest, you can start to get back to your normal activities. Staying active increases blood flow to the area and helps you heal. TNT MAGAZINE | 47
Disk problems: Disks cushion the vertebrae (small spinal bones). Disks can bulge from their position in the spine and press on a nerve. They can also tear (herniated disks). With age, disks can get flatter and offer less protection (degenerative disk disease). Structural problems: A condition called spinal stenosis happens when the spinal column is too narrow for the spinal cord. Something pinching the spinal cord can cause severe sciatic nerve pain and lower back pain. Scoliosis (curvature of the spine) can lead to pain, stiffness, and difficulty moving. Arthritis : Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis to cause lower back pain. Ankylosing spondylitis causes lower back pain, inflammation, and stiffness in the spine. Disease: Spine tumor infections and several types of cancer can cause back pain. Other conditions can cause back pain, too. These include kidney stones and abdominal aortic aneurysms. Spondylolisthesis: This condition causes the vertebrae in the spine to slip out of place. Spondylolisthesis leads to low back pain and often leg pain as well.
Other treatments for lower back pain depend on the cause. They include: Medications: Your provider may recommend nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or prescription drugs to relieve pain. Other medications relax muscles and prevent back spasms. Physical therapy (PT): PT can strengthen muscles so they can support your spine. PT also improves flexibility and helps you avoid another injury. Hands-on manipulation: Several “hands-on” treatments can relax tight muscles, reduce pain and improve posture and alignment. Depending on the cause of the pain, you may need osteopathic manipulation or chiropractic adjustments. Massage therapy can also help with back pain relief and restore function. Injections: Your provider uses a needle to inject medication into the area that’s causing pain. Steroid injections relieve pain and reduce inflammation. Surgery: Some injuries and conditions need surgical repair. There are several types of surgery for low back pain, including many minimally invasive techniques. Can I prevent lower back pain? You can’t prevent the lower back pain that results from disease or structural problems in the spine. But you can avoid injuries that cause back pain. To reduce your risk of a back injury, you should: Maintain a healthy weight: Excess weight puts pressure on vertebrae and disks. Strengthen your abdominal muscles: Pilates and other exercise programs strengthen core muscles that support the spine.
Lift the right way: To avoid injuries, lift with your legs (not your back). Hold heavy items close to your body. Try not to twist your torso while you’re lifting. What is the outlook for people with lower back pain? The outlook depends on the cause of the pain. Most people with back strains and sprains recover and do not have long-term health issues. But many people will have another episode within a year. Some people have chronic back pain that doesn’t get better after several weeks. Older people with degenerative conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis may have symptoms that get worse over time. Surgery and other treatments are effective at helping people with a range of injuries and conditions live pain-free. When should I see my healthcare provider about lower back pain? Lower back pain usually gets better with rest and pain relievers. Back pain that doesn’t go away may be a sign of a more serious condition. See your provider if you have: Pain that doesn’t get better after about a week of at-home care. Tingling, numbness, weakness, or pain in your buttocks or legs. Severe pain or muscle spasms that interfere with your normal activities. Fever, weight loss, bowel or bladder problems, or other unexplained symptoms.
