TECHNICAL: The fact that the Klopfer-Hirth face tool system and the Klopfer expanding sleeve and flange mandrels have long since been the ‘norm’ for production engineers, there is little need to expand on the efficiency of the company’s product structure in work holding. This includes the Cushman and Westcot precision and American systems, lathe precision geared scroll, Manucraft manual, 2 and 4-jaw, self centring eccentric and power-operated chucks, revolving pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, precision 4-way and Wechselfix quick-change tool holders, face, drivers and live centres. Comprehensive catalogues sent on request; suffice to mention in this general catalogue the: TYPE SP-TO MANDREL The mandrel consists of the arbor and the expanding sleeve. The component to be machined is placed over the expanding sleeve and clamped by forcing in the arbor. This type of mandrel is attached to the machine tool between centres. At the cylindrical end of the mandrel is a flat which can be used to drive the mandrel and workpiece. The centring bores at both ends of the arbor are ground, and to the pattern laid down in German Industrial Standard DIN 332, with protective counterbore. This pattern of mandrel ids highly suitable for component inspection, grinding and light to medium-heavy lathe turning work.

Each standard case contains two mandrels sets, covering the following clamping ranges without gaps: MANDREL SET A = Clamping Range 12-26mm PRICE £P.O.A Mandrel Set A comprises: 1 arbor each, sizes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Expanding sleeves with min. diameters: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24mm MANDREL SET B = Clamping Range 25-55mm PRICE £P.O.A Mandrel Set A comprises: 1 basic arbor each, sizes 6, 7 and 8 Expanding sleeves with min. diameters: 20, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50mm IMPORTANT: When ordering, always state the make and size of mandrel for which expanding sleeves are required.
