Precautions for Use
Hinges overall • Excluding piano hinges, etc., we recommend using at least 2 hinges per door (lid). • When not indicated otherwise, hinges are sold by the piece; most product specifications, however, anticipate the use of 2 or 3 pieces. Confirm the quantity listed by the item name in the table and order the number required for the projected door size. • When the quantity is not listed for the door width and height table items, it is the same as the quantity listed in the load capacity item. Depending on the quantity used, larger doors may be supported. Confirm with the "Required Hinge Quantity" figure on each product page. • When both maximum door size and load capacity are listed, prioritise the load capacity for selection. • Even when the opening / closing angles are listed, the door may not stop at that position. To prevent damage to the hinges, the door itself, or the surroundings, provide a separate door stopper to prevent opening further. Damper Hinges • Use within the torque range. • Be sure to conduct prototype verification before use. The same applies to torque hinges.
Glass Hinges • When using 3 architectural hinges (for shower stalls), the intermediate hinge position should be centred between the upper and lower hinges (Fig.1). Torque Hinges • When not otherwise indicate, the torque is the value with 1 hinge. • Do not operate repeatedly (repeated motions within a short period of time). • Do not apply eccentric load to the hinges. • For torque hinges without resistance indicated, do not expose to water, oil, lubricant, etc. • The torque is as of delivery. The figure does not indicate post-durability testing torque. • Other than where explicitly indicated, do not use torque hinges outdoors or in locations exposed to dust, as their performance may be seriously affected. • The torque is the value set for top-opening doors. Be sure to test with the actual product upon selection.
