NATURE NESTERS Nature Nesters is a program designed to engage little minds and bodies while learning about various topics of the natural world. At 10 a.m. every Thursday, at the Delores Fenwick Nature Center, children ages 4 and under and their parents sing songs, read stories, and create small crafts to help further their understanding. This program is free to all and no registration is required to attend. Nature Nesters is a rain or shine event. Free 0 – 4 years DFNC Thur., 10 – 10:30 a.m. FENWICK FLEDGLINGS Fenwick Fledglings is a programdesigned to challenge participants to use critical thinking skills while engaging with the natural world. At 10 a.m. every Saturday at the Delores Fenwick Nature Center, children ages 5 and up, and their parents will engage in nature walks, problem solving activities and experiments to further their understanding of the day’s topic. This program is free to all and no registration is required to attend. Fenwick Fledglings is a rain or shine event. Free 5+ years DFNC Sat., 10 – 10:30 a.m. BIRDING IN THE FIELD Birders and birders-to-be can join an experienced guide to explore some of Pearland’s birding hotspots. Participants will get the opportunity to see a variety of species and learn tips for identifying birds in the field. All skill levels are welcome. Whether you are just getting started or are a lifelong birder looking for folks to enjoy the outdoors with, Birding in the Field is sure to be a great time! Registration is online or in person at the DFNC or REC Center. $20 16+ years Fri., June 5, 8 – 11 a.m. DFNC Fri., July 17, 8 – 11 a.m. SCR Nature Trail Fri., Aug. 28, 8 – 11 a.m. DFNC

FIELD TRIPS Our programs are designed for a variety of groups or organizations and all can be tailored to suit your groups’ educational objectives. Our programs for schools are designed by grade level and are TEK aligned. Each group will be able to discover the traits of a healthy ecosystem, learn ways to help protect natural areas and, of course, meet live animals. Reservations are required at a minimumof 2 weeks in advance. Pricing begins at $8 per participating child. Don’t delay, book today! CAMP PELICAN AT DELORES FENWICK NATURE CENTER

School is out, but that doesn’t mean learning has to take a break! The DFNC is proud to debut CAMP PELICAN—the Pearland Environmental Learning Institute for Conservation Adventure and Nature! These specialty, nature-themed camps are designed to bring children closer to nature and foster a further love and understanding of the natural world. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., each day will be filled with exploration and educational lessons about Texas wildlife, habitats andmore!
