Facility Updates
SHADOW CREEK LIBRARY The City is constructing a permanent 39,000 square foot county library facility on the west side of Pearland. The facility will be located on a 3.2 acre site on Shadow Creek Parkway west of Kirby Drive. The two-story library will include traditional library spaces designed for patrons of all ages, private study rooms, a 100-seat teaching theater and a county tax office. There is potential for collaboration with Brazoria County to move the tax office from the Public Safety Building to this site.
FIRE STATION NO. 8 In addition to Shadow Creek Library, the neighborhood is also receiving an additional fire station, which will be dedicated upon completion on the west side of Pearland. Fire Station No. 8 will assist Fire Stations Nos. 4 and 5 in assisting with emergency calls throughout the area. Curious to learn about other projects the City is undertaking?
