SeSSIon BrIeFInG Explain: Being personal is crucial if you want the guest to feel welcome.
Ask: Who can give me an example of the last time you felt really welcome? Most likely, answers will reflect the fact that something personal was done for them. Put cards, crayons/pencils, postcards and envelopes in the middle of the group and ask the Ambassadors to think of someone (a colleague or preferably a guest) that they want to give an extra welcome to. Tell them to write and draw a special message to make this person feel welcome and/or use your smartphone, or items in the session room to make this person feel welcome. Make sure they post or give the message to this special person. tAKe-AWAYS • Really feeling welcome is caused by a personal approach. • Find out-of-the-box ways to express ‘welcome’. • Words can make people feel welcome and creative expressions underline these.
