SeSSIon 6 | eFFIcIencY – 1, 2, 3 clAP Learning Objective: Experience that practice makes perfect (& efficient).
After 45-60 seconds say : we are ambitious so let’s go to the next level. Please change the 2 into a little jump. So the exercise will be clap- jump-3, clap-jump-3, etc. You can start now.
Set uP
After a minute, say : Let’s change 3 as well. Now we want to see a wiggle like this (shake your ‘behind’) instead of the 3. You can start now.
10 min (might take a little longer…) Indoor Team 7-12 pax
After a minute, say : you are a very talented group. Thank you. I have one final request. Please go back to the very first step again, where you say 1-2-3, 1-2-3, etc.
SeSSIon BrIeFInG Say: Exercise part 1 (3 minutes), we are now going to do a brief exercise that you will find very amusing and eye opening. Please stand up and choose a partner. Then go to an open area where you can do this exercise. Say: I would like you to face each other and count from 1 to 3, and then start again from 1. This sounds easy, but you have to take turns. Let me show you what I mean.
End the exercise by thanking them all for participating so enthusiasti- cally.
Ask: What did you experience during this exercise? Let a few Ambassadors share their experiences. Then ask : What can we learn from this? Transformer note: Make sure that the group learns the following as a minimum: by challenging yourself and by practicing the more difficult steps, you find that the initial exercise becomes very easy. You became much more efficient when you did 1, 2, 3 the second time. In addition, focus and fun ensures that things go more smoothly, this will allow us to be confident so that we can provide generous experiences for our guests.
Say: Of course you can do this much quicker, so make it more challenging and speed things up. Go.
Transformer note: The Ambassadors will start the exercise now and find that it is both noisy and not easy at all. When they really speed up, they will start to make more and more mistakes. This will lead to sur- prise and excitement and make them try even harder. Encourage them to speed up again.
Say and explain: You are probably asking yourselves what this has to do with making our guests feel welcome and special….
Ask: What did you experience? Have several Ambassadors share their experiences.
tAKe-AWAYS • When we practice and repeat things we become more efficient and confident in what we do; we can accomplish much more! • Sometimes things seem tough at the beginning, but with more practice and efficiency you will become more aware of the guests around you, and what their potential needs could be.
Say: You seem to be a talented group! Let’s make it a bit harder for you. Please do the same exercise, but now rather than saying 1, clap your hands once. So what we want to hear is: clap-2-3, clap-2-3, etc. You can start now.
