Mammography Machine The State of Florida awarded CHI with a $500,000 grant to acquire a state-of- the-art 3D mammography machine, a groundbreaking addition to its services. This advanced technology will directly benefit hundreds of women receiving care at CHI, offering lifesaving mammography services for Miami-Dade and Monroe county residents. The implementation of this cutting-edge machine later in 2024 facilitates early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Providing greater access to screenings in the community will reduce late-stage diagnoses, ultimately reducing mortality rates in the South Florida community.
Mobile Medical Van In our mission to enhance healthcare accessibility, CHI’s Mobile Medical Van reached new heights in 2023! Launched in 2020 to deliver exceptional services to patients unable to make the trip to a traditional health center, the medical van became a vital resource for the community. In 2023, the van served and screened more than 511 patients with 1,721 primary care visits in Florida City and Coconut Grove. This continued success showcases CHI’s unwavering commitment to delivering quality healthcare to those in need, ensuring accessibility is never a barrier to well- being. The purchase of the van was funded by Direct Relief and the Health Resources and Service Administration, but inspired by Former Commissioner Dennis Moss. Today, it is partially funded by the Florida Health Department.
