CERTIFIED PEER RECOVERY SPECIALIST The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist training is a Maryland Addictions and Behavioral Health Professionals Certification Board (MABPCB) approved program. Students who have been impacted by addiction are provided the training necessary to become Maryland State Certified Peer Recovery Specialists. BLACKSMITH The Blacksmithing Technology Program brings back one of the first apprentice trades in the country. The program introduces participants to basic blacksmithing techniques, use of blacksmithing tools, metallurgy, and techniques for forging, grinding, heat treating, and finishing projects. Completing the program prepares individuals to create custom metal or iron works, craft custom blades as a bladesmith, or provide horse shoeing as a farrier.

CONSTRUCTION TRADES PRE-APPRENTICESHIP Focusing on apprenticeship and employment in the skilled trades, the construction trades program will prepare individuals for a registered apprenticeship in the construction/ building trades. Registered apprenticeships are available in the areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVING (CDL B) CDL Class B operators drive a variety of commercial vehicles including dump trucks, delivery trucks, passenger buses, and other vehicles more than 26,000 pounds. The CDL Class B program covers the theory and driving skills required under the federal entry-level driver training requirements. The class provides students with training on defensive driving techniques, road safety, pre-trip inspections, and the ability to control and maneuver vehicles in varied driving situations. Applicants must complete a screening process, have a current DOT physical card, and a CDL Class B learner’s permit with air brake endorsement.
