Maximizing Your Multimeter & Power Probe 2/10/24, 8:30-11:30 am Class #118, DeVos Gallery Overlook H This class is for the Rising Star/Future Star Technicians in your shop. If the last class you had was vo-tech or a technical school, then this class is for you. This is not a theory class. We will show when to perform a specific test for a specific problem using your Multimeter and Power Probe. Our instructions are clear and concise keeping in mind shop productivity and efficiency. Testing methods covered: Backprobing vs piercing vs scan tool readings; Sensor reference, signal, and ground; Battery SOC and charging; Parasitic Drain with amperage; Voltage Drop vs available voltage; When to test using Duty Cycle and Frequency; When a testlight is faster; Dealing with mA and k-ohms; When to use DCV or ACV. We will also illustrate the advantages of using Min/Max, Hold, and Zero functions. You will leave here at the Next Level! Apply logical methods to streamline the diagnostic process on import applications. • Learn about import vehicle systems, driveability diagnostic steps, and scan tool data PIDs to fix the car right the first time. This workshop reviews the needs for passing the ASE A8 Engine Performance Test. A Garage Guru overviews general test taking procedures and guidelines. This workshop includes reviewing several ASE sample questions and the logic behind the way they were written. We provide a summary of the description and operation for the following items taken from the task list for the ASE A8 test: General Engine Diagnosis, Ignition System Diagnosis and Repair, Fuel, Air Induction and Exhaust System Diagnosis and Repair, Emission Control Systems Diagnosis and Repair, and Computerized Engine Control Diagnosis.
