Drivability & Diagnostics BMW Drivability Diagnostics 2/10/24, 1:30-4:30 pm Class #228, DeVos River Overlook C This class will use vehicle case studies to illustrate the diagnostic process needed to diagnose a range of problems on these complex cars. ISTA test plan diagnostics will be shown. Learn how to develop a logical way to diagnose problems that the manufacturer created test plans do not provide a simple solution to. Problem vehicles will be diagnosed with scan data analysis and lab scope testing using an understanding of system operation, not just following Test Plan directions. The following vehicles will be discussed: 2010 BMW 528, MIL and Lambda Control Code, 2004 BMW 330xi, MIL Complaint, 2004 BMW X-5, Severe Running Complaint, Crankcase Pressure Testing & a 2011 BMW 335i Emission Failure, 2013 BMW X-3, No Start Issue, and 2011 BMW 328i, Rough, Rolling Idle. Each case study will illustrate the path to the root cause of the problem. Presented by: GreatWater Garages Speaker: Scot Manna

Domestic Drivability Diagnostics 2/10/24, 1:30-4:30 pm Class #206, Amway Governor’s Room In this case study based class, we will discuss a variety of diagnostic techniques used to solve a mix of difficult driveability problems found on GM, Ford and Chrysler vehicles. Case Studies are tremendous educational tools which can be used to explain system theory, specific testing techniques and data interpretation in a real world environment. Scan data interpretation and scope usage along with a common sense approach will be highlighted throughout this session. Presented by: Pro-Tech Auto Speaker: John Thornton
