Hybrid Systems

Light Duty Diesel

Vehicle Electrification/Hybrid Systems 2/10/24, 1:30-4:30 pm Class #221, DeVos Grand Gallery C Vehicle electrification typically means the move towards hybrid or full EV vehicles. But it is more than that. It also includes replacing other systems, such as hydraulic steering, with electric motors and sensors. Technicians are facing these new systems and hybrid vehicles at an alarming pace. In order to stay profitable, many shops are realizing that they must eventually embrace the changes that vehicle electrification is bringing to the market. After completing this class, a technician will be able to: Work safely on electrified vehicles, Understand the two major Stop/Start systems and diagnose faults, Disable the high-voltage system and perform common system repairs, Understand the different hybrid vehicle types and why it matters, Diagnose common hybrid system faults, Diagnose auxiliary systems that operate on high-voltage. Cummins Diagnosis & Service 2/10/24, 8:30-11:30 am Class #121, DeVos Grand Gallery C

Cummins diesel engines have powered Dodge heavy duty trucks for the past 30 years. Many changes have been made to the fuel and turbocharger systems for greater power output. Additionally, exhaust aftertreatment systems have evolved to comply with the ever-increasing emission regulations. Understanding how to diagnose and repair these complex systems will increase the shop’s competitive advantage. Primarily focusing on 2013 and newer Cummins 6.7L engines found in Dodge Ram trucks, the goal of this class is to equip technicians the knowledge of how to properly diagnose and repair these systems. After completing this class, a technician will be able to: Identify fuel system and turbocharger components, Understand fuel delivery and injection operation, Diagnose no start and performance concerns, Understand and diagnose aftertreatment systems, Understand system inputs and outputs, Use scan tool for effective diagnostics.
