A compilation of diverse works, created and juried by the art students of BIOLA University.
ADDITIONAL SPACE This compilation of works, created by various art students from BIOLA University, investigates the influence of spatial awareness, both tangible and intangible. These varying approaches to define Additional Space are expressed through diverse media, displaying the inability to set physical limitations on the concept. To claim something additional one must assume there is already something in place to add on to. This is a familiar concept, whether it regards the physical or the non-physical—an additional room or an additional thought. The idea of space however, raises the question of environment, relativity, and proximity. Wherever we are, we are conscious of our positioning in relation to the environment around us. However, it can also reveal an emotional, social, or mental space. It is something we inhabit, seek out, create; it can be inviting, deprived, or intimidating. Adjoining these concepts creates a broad spectrum for the imagination. There is no fixed way to interpret Additional Space. We encourage the viewer to approach these works with a posture of openness.

HIBBLETON GALLERY We are a gallery focusing on works from the latest underground artists. We are dedicated to art that provokes thought and initiates discourse, whether it is considered subculture, outsider, graffiti, lowbrow, or street. We also like to partner with non-profit organizations and local groups focusing on social justice, education, and making the world a little better through the arts. We are located at 223 W. Santa Fe Avenue in historic downtown Fullerton, California. Our gallery is located inside The Magoski Arts Colony, a massive multi-venue art space. We are open the first Friday of every month from 6-10pm for the Downtown Fullerton Art Walk, and every Wednesday evening from 7:30-11pm for our weekly curated film nights. Both events are free and open to the public.

BIOLA ART DEPARTMENT Located in La Mirada, California--in the greater Los Angeles area--the Biola Art Department is well positioned to represent a vital Christian worldview within the critical dialogue of contemporary visual art. It offers students a professional visual arts program and space to grapple with issues concerning the intersection of faith with art and culture, within a rigorous curriculum that reflects a strong liberal arts emphasis. The Biola art program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. The Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Art is the professional undergraduate degree that is highly desired by serious students intent on pursuing careers or advanced degrees in the visual arts. The program is designed to give art students flexibility to choose from one of five emphases: design, painting, photography, sculpture, or interdisciplinary.
