Community Partnerships • Community Partnerships: (Person 1) “You know, I think one of the biggest benefits of this particular geography in this particular area of talent is that we’ve got some really strong, longtime existing organizations and in the communities, the four the four neighborhoods that are being served by the military. Prior to the existence of the military, I don’t know if there was a good kind of kind of one stop shop organization that was helping to connect all those organizations and efforts. I think this organization, in some ways has, has filled that gap fill that role. And I think there’s been benefit. We know whether it’s mercy met or open door through spring, etc., or Fox Housing Authority, there’s, I think there’s been some real benefit. And frankly, just comfort in the neighborhood of knowing kind of where it’s working, what laying there in...” and (Person 2) “...there’s so many things that are great that were already going on in our neighborhoods, and now we’re together and working.” • Community Partnerships: “Certainly the partners that we have, [inaudible 00:00:07] partner organizations do what they’re doing, the strength of their boards, what they’ve accomplished in the neighborhood.” • Community Partnerships; “The housing that comes with (Mercer University expansion), just the number of people that comes with that is going to be a huge and positive infusion. What we have already seen is, I don’t know if I could call it speculation, but we’ve seen more market rate, housing development that has come off of that investment. Like I said, it’s all riverfront property. You get some acreage on the river there and it is knock your socks off. And to have that in close proximity to your downtown business district, close proximity to your healthcare offerings, your hospital system, it is very well located.” • Community Partnerships; (PERSON 1) “I get behind the good ideas of our partners and whatever it is that they’re doing things. Just however we can support them to help bring those ideas to fruition and to bring awareness to the good change. I think in the community. I mean, if we just harp on the doom and gloom of the real dire cases, that’s the real broken people and situations, it’s depressing. But if you see good change and how it’s affecting people really positively, I think you can still make the connection here’s a real problem in our community. This is what poverty is. But I would approach it from a positive standpoint.” - (PERSON 2) “...the housing authority probably between that two projects and their vouchers, they probably have over 500 families in this area. And I think partnering with them and engaging their Residents with Mercy Med and Fox and working with the parents with job training and education, I think that’s a real opportunity. Because the housing authority doesn’t do that, they just provide housing. And 30 years ago they tried to do some different things through the authority and they stopped.” • Community Partnerships: “I think one thing that just runs through all of those comments is that the strength of the partnerships and collaboration for the building.”
Community Relations • I am most proud of our community concern
